If you were kidnapped, stripped of everything but the clothes on your back, dropped in the middle of a major city during a situation like the Rodney King Riots, and told you could only have one item other than the clothes on your back, what item would you pick, and why? I would pick a Leatherman Blast, because it could be used as an effective weapon to defend myself, I could make myself a more effective weapon in short order with it, and it would assist me in getting out of the city faster(using the wire cutter to make a hole in a chain-link fence, etc.), and those are just the things I can think of at the moment. Mods, feel free to move this if you want.

Edited: Clothes on your back does not include your EDC stuff. Also, no vehicles allowed. Sorry!:D

I could take down anything in my way, and use it to take whatever else I need. It could also be concealed.
 
I'd want a chopper. That way, all I'd have to do is get in and fly home.:D

All seriousness aside, they would have a heck of a time taking me anywhere, but if they did and they actually managed to get my EDC off of me, I would want some pain killer, cause they had to crack my skull pretty good, just to get me to leave. :D
 
I know this is Bladeforums but......an 8 oz - 12 oz black jack. With that I could probably get anything else I needed or wanted......
 
honestly...for me....a small, concealable kerambit. I'd want something that would be totally legal to carry, yet deadly in close quarters...and still able to open up an orange. :D
 
A helmet...a really tough helmet...so I wouldn't feel all the bricks bouncing of my skull..:D

Having been caught in a riot in Guat city, Guatemala, I would say anything less than an AK with about fifty POUNDs(not rounds) of ammo would leave me feeling vulnerable. I would prefer that the clothes on my back include a vest and a helmet.

Saying you want a knife so its legal ignores what a riot is, It is the break down of Law and order, and what you NEED is something that instantly conveys to the observer that you are not worth the risk of bothering. During the RK riots, who kept their stores, their inventory and their lives? The shop keepers who were armed to the teeth and openly displayed it. Why, because it was clear to all, that trying to bust up that store was going to involve great personal risk, where as the chain store down the street where the employees were prohibited from carrying was easy pickin's.

Well it seems like you guys are all picking more than one item. A gun plus one bullet is two items. I would take a sharp hatchet.

I don't know who I'd be more afraid of...

...the rioters...or the number of people already who answered <insert gun here> followed by something like "I can acquire the rest..." :eek:
