If you won $250K post tax would that change your knife buying habits?

I would give half to St. Jude's, 25k to my family, and buy a house with the rest. I guess that would change my knife habits, as I would have more money to blow on knives that I didn't like enough to buy when money meant more but everyone thinks are the bee's knees like CRK and Hinderer products.

Id pay off everything and my kids student loans and than splurge on a Opinel if I had enough left :barf:

If i saw one i liked i would just clap my hands twice , and my personal knife buying assistant would do the rest .

I would buy this one but I don't think the 250k would do it. I would have to break open my piggy bank to make up the difference.

"Gem (or Jewel) of the Orient" made by Buster Warenski was sold for 2.1 million bucks. 153 emeralds , nine diamonds, 28 ounces of gold.

This was exactly what I was thinking. 250,000 steps closer to financial independence :)

What!!! I think it would be 240,000 steps closer to financial independence for me lol:-) I don't believe I could resist a few little extra trinkets for me and the wife.

Nope. I finance my knife habit out of a tiny slice of my profits from my business, separate from what I pay myself as 'salary'. That way it never has an impact on family finances and my wife is happy with it that way. If I won $250K it would immediately become 'family' money, and the bulk would go into our retirement fund. Oh, we'd probably splurge on one of our cruises and bump up our cabin from a junior suite to the 'Royal' Suite. But I really don't think that I'd have any increase in my discretionary spending for my hobbies.

I'd combine traveling and knives.
I'd go to some knife-shows and I'm sure "that" would change my knife buying habits.

I'd probably get a wicked edge with all the bells and whistles, a couple ZT LEs, and hunt down a Laconico. Under $10,000 LOL. :)

Not hoping for $250K, but I did just discover that I had over $900 in cash rewards on my credit card that have been building over the past several years. I had forgotten all about them until I checked my statement today to see if a credit had been applied. :D

It wouldn't change my knife buying decisions. I still wouldn't spend more than $150 on a knife, but would buy myself a really good knife sharpening system.

I wouldn't blow it all. Save it. Put 75% of it in a bank, the rest goes towards knives.

And I wouldn't go all out with customs. I wouldn't be able to carry a $5,000 knife, it'd be a safe queen. I'd just stay at my normal price range, and I'll be perfectly content.

If I won $250k, I would pay whatever bills I had & invest the rest in opening my own luxury automotive repair shop. That way that investment would provide me with a comfortable living & allow me to buy whatever knife I could now afford as a business owner. I make a good living now, but owning my own shop is my goal & that money whould allow me to get there faster. It's nice to dream :)

$200K would go to a new house, bills, and investment.
Wife would get $25K and I would get $25K.

I would probably spend about $5K on knives.
The majority going for Randall's, Chris Reeve, Curtiss, and one more Hinderer.

I could see a few more Striders, some Hinderers, Snipers, a few Crusader Forge models, more El Patron's, a couple Kingdom Armory folders, more customs, etc, etc, etc, I would try and stop at $25 grand. So basically, nothing would change.

You have spent 25K on knives? Can I have one please?
