If you're 'just browsing' the production knives fs....

Emerson, Sog, CRKT, Medford, ZT, Strider, Hinderer.... List goes on n on, everything looking army or tactical like is just not for me I guess.

Good thing is scrolling down 1st page of General Knife Discussion takes only a few seconds!! :D

I feel ya, seems like BF is a sinking ship. Where is everybody going?

Dunno, but finding threads with substance is like panning for gold. It's been noticeable for me since Blues left. May just be the normal churn, who knows.

I usually skip over CRKT and Cold Steel. If there is a model I want from them I will look, but that's rare with those two brands.

I look at the brands I like.
I don't look at the brands I don't like.

Pretty much what I do. I branch out a little for general information, but don't spend a lot of time looking at stuff that I have no interest in.

BF recommendations often cause me to look at something I might not have looked at. I like links in threads in addition to pictures. But certain features pretty much turn me off on folders.

Yep, several of the brands already listed above...pretty much ALL non-us made SOG, Gerber, Cold Steel (save for Japanese made CS)

(the following brands I will rarely look at as they are imo either mostly bland, w/out character and pretty much all look the same or are just plain UGLY) Lion Steel, Survive! knives, most Bark River, Essee, Strider, and yes, go ahead and light your torches...Spyderco (sorry, but they're not good looking imo)...and at least several unnamed others.

And, it should go w/out saying pretty much everything that I know to be cheap garbage from China or any other eastern nation on general principle. (unless I had absolutely no other choice)

😊 more for me thank you

I always look at Spyderco and Becker sell/trades.

Any others are out of curiousity.

All of the "midtechs". We can argue their merits all day, but with few exceptions, they're all just overpriced production knives as far as I'm concerned. If I'm in a financial position to spend $500-750 on a knife, then I'm also in a position to spend $1000+ on a knife, so I'll get a full custom.

Net to me........buh bye!!

For me it isn't even that people want to recoup their selling costs. It's that they're too damn lazy to do the math. Everywhere else I buy stuff, the person selling will ring you up and tell you what the total charge is, except apparently a lot of people here are all "If you want to buy my stuff, you have to figure out how much it costs yourself!"

PASS.

Hinderer and ZT are really all I look at. I guess I go a bit against the grain here since those brands certainly have many outspoken detractors and some of the most universally loved brands (Chris Reeve, Spyderco) do nothing for me.

Yup!!
The one friggin time I went through with a net to me, knife was for my son, I added 3%. The seller hounded me for the $0.29 I shorted him.
Just list a total price ffs!
Joe

I actually enjoy the selling process on the exchange here.

Everyone I've sold to has been great to deal with. Especially the last couple guys. Very down to Earth and polite.

Anyway , I glance at the FS section from time to time. And I only look at a few brands like Spyderco , CRK , ZT and maybe some customs.

I have absolutely no interest in brands like Cold Steel , Emerson or Benchmade.

Looking through the Exchange, I came up with a couple of other signs that will make me breeze on by.
Bad pics.....if you can't be bothered to take decent pics, I'm gonna think there's something you're hiding.
No pics or e mail seller for pics. Nope.
Unclear wording on condition or payment methods.
Joe
