I'll bet this starts some trouble!

Even if I didn't need the one hand opening and lockup of a modern type folder, I'd go broke having to buy a traditional slipjoint every two three weeks. Things don't want to stay in my pockets when lying and crawling under machinery. Keys, wrenches and pencils tend to lay there or get returned. Knives and flashlights seem to somehow grow legs and run away.

geez, what gangbanging zombies do you plan to stab with that thing?

I didn't buy the Mnandi to take on gangbanging zombies. However, I would feel better about using it against ganbanging zombies than using one of my old slippies. :)

To me, the Mnandi is a better knife than my old slippies.

I prefer a locking folder , but there are times when I just feel like carrying a slipjoint in addition to my locking folders.

Look down on someone cause they carry modern folder over a slipjoint ? Jeez man....that's just make ya sound like an old cantankerous coot !

" hey why you got those new confangled disk brakes on the front of your car ? Don't you know them old outdated drum brakes work just fine ? ".... well they do , but the stopping distance from 80-0 is a heck of a lot longer. ;)

buy & carry what ya like , there are so many good knives to choose from , and from many different makers and knife companies.

This is my gangbanging zombie knife. :)

When going for Zombies you need to be well dressed as well as well armed....

Well, well, well... I see my initial prediction was right on the money.

In case you didn't notice, this little exercise had much more to do with people than with their choices in knives. I read all the responses, but I didn't break them down into categories. I'd have to say, though, that fully 50-75% of you spoke volumes about your own personalities, even the one who bills himself as a super-duper something-or-other. Be proud.

You gotta have some fun....;)

Normally, when someone makes a snowball like this and doesn't come back to at least defend their position, it's considered trolling. But anyways...
I decided I was going to purchase a slippie not too long ago and got a fairly warm reception. Once I got the knife and cited some reservations about the fit and finish, I felt something somewhat different. Almost like if I wasn't all:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup: gaga about the knife, I was less than welcome. I kept on reading how it was a different forum-all "folksy". It was different all-right, just not how I expected. Just my take , though.
I like the look of most slippies, as my grandfather had one, along with his International pickup truck. But times have changed and I'm not my grandfather, nor do I want to be. I'm lucky enough to have two jobs that require knives that are more user-friendly than an ol' stockman. When kayak guiding, there's simply no room for a knife like a slippie, so I go for my Salt(oh no, it won't get that worn-look from being around water:eek:) and when I'm at the firehouse, I'd prefer something with a lock that is also easily grabbed from the top of my pocket.
Different strokes, right?

I looked at your threads and didn't notice anything but good attitudes from the trad guys?

yes, your trolling was quite effective.

as much as I hate to admit, I agree. Dr. Mudd, what you did was in very POOR taste if indeed it was meant to 'show personalities' by inciting unrest. if there is any theme to the Trad forum it is one of camaraderie and friendship. Your *experiment* engenders NEITHER.

i wouldn't put this in the tradition of Jackknife at all and I wouldn't consider what you did any indication of your kinship with him.

IMHO,
Brett

You know, you make it sound like your Edgar Cayce, you don't have to be exactly a rocket scientist to see the direction this thread was going to take.........

sounds like a crawfish to me.

other than being a total jackass, what the hell is wrong with you?

Well, well, well,...In case you haven't noticed, nobody gives a rats a$$ about you or your little hairbrained experiment.

And the car goes into the crowd. I think we're in W&C territory now.

I personally think that this post is just an attempt to save some face. Good luck with that.
