I'll bet this starts some trouble!

Thats what makes it interesting you never know what's going to float to the surface....

Very few of us in the Trad forum if any have an us vs them attitude. Alot of the Trad forum guys even carry all types of knives. Heck I'd bet even the Mods of that forum may even have a one hander or two, maybe even a neck knife also.

Way to be a total troll, then still manage to be pretentious and a mind-blowing hypocrite with your follow up reply to this unnecessary mess. I hope you're happy with yourself, Dr. Mudd.

Seems pretty accurate to me -:).

:D.

You mean like a Sebenza, Lochsa or Carson or Ralph or Vallotton or Smith or Obenaugh or or MT or Kershaw or BM or Spidie. ;)

Let's face it. A well made knife is a good thing.

Over and over as I read many of the threads here I keep wondering if I and Jackknife and a handful of other "old codgers" are the only ones left who truly appreciate folding knives that don't come with locking blades made of exotic steels, springy little pocket clips, weird finishes, strange handles, and oddly shaped blades. I mean, what is it that so many people are doing or planning to do with their knives that a simple Case Sodbuster won't do? Do a lot of you fight your way home from school every day through radioactive landscapes and apocalyptic scenarios filled with mutants, zombies, terrorists, and drug-crazed killers of every other known persuasion?

There's a Traditional subforum. Use it.

And our wives and girlfriends have the gall to say we are insensitive !

I grew up on slip joints..stockmans and trapper.. but I was one of the first to buy a buck 110 and retire my case jackknife.. Locking blades are a whole lot safer.. but I really have no problem with either.. In my pockets as I write this, I have a CS stockman, Benchmade liner lock and a Leatherman wave on my belt.. sometimes I rotate in my SAK
Carry what you enjoy..

As I posted in another thread, if I ever get another Barlow to replace the one I lost as a boy, it would have a locking blade. It probably also would have one-hand opening. I have in mind a pivot bearing that could allow one-hand opening with nothing more than a trad nail-nick. Come to think of it, Les Voorhies already makes a knife not that far removed from what I want.

Anyway, what would one call such a folder? Tradtical, maybe?

Well, well, well... I see my initial prediction was right on the money.

In case you didn't notice, this little exercise had much more to do with people than with their choices in knives. I read all the responses, but I didn't break them down into categories. I'd have to say, though, that fully 50-75% of you spoke volumes about your own personalities, even the one who bills himself as a super-duper something-or-other. Be proud.

Ahhh yes the, "It was all part of my plan" Troll technique. Well you deserve some of my best work.

Trolltide (sung to tune of Rawhide)

TRollin', Trollin', Trollin'
TRollin', Trollin', Trollin'
TRollin', Trollin', Trollin'
TRollin', Trollin', trollin'
Trolltide!

TRollin', trollin', trollin'
Though the forums are swollen
Keep them dogies trollin'
Trolltide!
Feelings and ego and wrenchin'
Hell-bent for attention
Wishin' my only friend was by my side.
All the things I'm missin',
Good friends, love, and kissin',
Aren't waiting at the end of my ride

CHORUS
Copy 'em on, post 'em up,
Post 'em up, copy 'em out,
Copy 'em on, post 'em out Trolltide!
Set 'em out, post 'em in
Post 'em in, let 'em out,
Cut 'em out, Post 'em in Trolltide.

Keep postin', postin', postin',
Though they're disapprovin',
Keep them posties movin' Trolltide!
Don't try to understand 'em,
Just google and copy and post 'em,
Soon they'll be fuming high and wide.
Boy my heart's calculatin'
My turtle will be waitin', be waiting at the end of my ride.

Trolltide!
Trolltide!

zenheretic actually wore out one of his popped collars writing that song.
