It IS a zombie thumb.
Moose, get you a hose clamp from Harbor Freight for 99 cents.
Snug it up around your scrotum, and every time that thumb hurts, tighten the clamp a few screws.
Guaranteed. You'll forget about that thumb pain inside of a minute or three.
I'm not really a physician, but I did stay at Motel 6 once.

HUGE FAN OF THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW HERE!!!!!!

I watch it every year, and head to the theater when I can find it showing, I have my squirt gun, rice, newpaper and most of the costumes in the closet. I been Frankenfurter, Brad, Janet (yeah.....I know) and RiffRaff. I almost went as Magenta one year, but couldn't find a hat.

Tiime is fleeting........madness.......takes it toll......

Doing good buddy thanks, a day without any rain would be nice but heck I'm used to it now !!!

The BK 10 is at the top of my list as my first Becker, gonna start saving now !
 
that thumbnail will probably come off... save it. encase it in acrylic. make a handle :>

i might be scarce for the next 6-8 weeks. picked up a frantic type contract. first 2 weeks the customer wants long days and uptime before the 24th, and then maybe i'll work that week alone... and then into January... if the world ends, i'll be busy... m00se can pick up the slack :D
 
Thumbnail came off today, as well as all the skin on the end of my thumb. Its all pink and squishy now.....

Go get that checked out man! The nail coming off is good the rest, not so much!
 
yeah that looks like a pice of bone or cartilige there trust me as a 21 year paramedic i've seen blood and bone lol!
 
Um, I'd not leave that exposed like that. At least wrap it in some gauze and keep bacitracin on it....And I hope you're on at least some sort of oral antibiotics...If an infection develops in the bone, you'll have some big problems.
 
Would agree with everyone else, that white stuff on the nail bed looks like cartilage/tendon, should keep it moist, bandage it up and go see your doc straight away or send him the picture and see what he thinks. Tendons can't be left exposed to air as they will dry out, skin wont grow on top of the tendon or cartilage. And an infection would be nasty. Dont want to sound like a douche but I am a doctor by profession, though not I'm not an surgeon.
 
As soon as I saw that photo and posted last night I called His Mooseness. He said he was going to head to the doctor today and I told him to put a moist dressing on it and he did. Maybe he will give us an update when he knows more.
