Howdy guys,
Hope y'all have missed me as much as I've missed all of you. First observation I have to make is that the world is a colder, darker, place with the loss of two of it's shining lights. Though I never got the chance to meet them face to face, I had a deep fondness and respect for Uncle Bill, and for Rusty. One bit of philosophy holds that you are never truly gone until you are forgotten. I have absolutely no doubt that the legacy of these two amazing men will live on in the minds of many, many, generations to come.
Hope all is well with all of you, and hope y'all don't mind me popping up after so long and mysterious an absence. I'm now retired from active duty, after serving 26 1/2 years. Didn't want to do it, wanted to go back to Afghanistan again with my boys, but Uncle Sam would have none of that. So here I am a civilian, and reckon I'll just have to deal with it.
I look forward to catching up with all of y'all, no doubt some interesting stuff has gone on while I was "elsewhere".

Good to be back,
Sarge

Wow it is great to hear from you Sarge. Glad that you are well. Thanks you for all the years of service. Look forward to having you around again you have been missed.

Holy Toledo!!

Welcome back, Sarge. Lots has happened 'round here.....

Holy cow Sarge! You sir, have made my day. After losing Pappy, Bill and Rusty it's nice to get some great news for a change! You have been sorely missed my friend. Welcome home. Welcome home.

Lot's of changes to the HI line since you left. There's even a hunting knife named after you. Kismet built the prototype, and Bura made it.

Damnation son it's good to have you back!

Steve

From one to another, Welcome Home!

I got here as you were leaving...Nice to meet you face to face finally.

Wow!!!! What *Great and Wonderful* News!!!!
Welcome Home Sarge and thanks once again for your service!!!! :D

Great to have you home, Sarge. A big thank you for everything you have done. You really ought to try out the sarge knife. Kis outdid himself in its design. simple, practical, and tough. ya can't ask anything more from a knife. Plus it's kinda cute and rides well in the pocket. So hang up those fatigues they must be tired after 26 years (bad joke, i know), get ya one of Kis' sarge knives slipped into your back pocket (go for the antler handled one), and start reading up. You've missed a lot, and we've missed you. Once again, a big thanks.

I was so surprised to see you that I forgot to thank you for those 26 1/2 years of service.

Thank you sir.

Welcome back. Was still lurking when you left, but always enjoyed
what you had to say. Thank you for coming back safe

Dadgum, didn't know about Pappy :( Pappy, you old marine, you must be bored to tears up there in heaven with no snakes to lop the heads off of. Semper Fi buddy.

Y'all went and named a knife after me? What can I say, except I'm deeply honored, don't feel that I deserve it, but gotta admit I'm pretty durned proud. Looks like a good one too, nice work Kis, very well done. From my observations, about the handiest knife you can carry in the "uncivilized" places of the world, is a small, sharp, fixed blade, with a comfortable handle and a blade right around 4" in length. Don't get me wrong, there are still times when a big old khukuri can be quite a comfort, but you'll find yourself using that "little" knife so much you'd be nearly lost without it, at least that's how I am.

I sure would like to get my hands on one of those "Sarge" knives, checked the HI storefront, didn't see any there, so I figure they must have been a limited production run. If somebody runs across one, or has one they wouldn't mind selling, please give me a cranium's up.

Bruise, I don't remember owing you money, but if you say it's so I won't argue. Just let me know where to send the twenty bucks, and it'll be on it's way.

Guys, it's good to be back, just wish I had a decent bear story to share, but haven't seen too many of them round and about:rolleyes:

Nah... you don't owe me any money. I just like to delude myself into thinking a lot of people owe me money. That way I don't have to worry about retirement that much. :D

I think Nasty owes me a few bucks though. :)
