I'm back

Sarge it's been so long since you've been here that you have forgotten Bruise's sense of dry humor. He was pokin fun and you took him serious. I know women who have turned up pregnant because of that. :p
It's a dayumed good thing no one can accuse you of being a woman ainnit. Hell you'd be knocked up with Bruise's baby.  :thumbdn: :p ;) :D
Whacherass or the next thing you know Bruise will be trying to sell you absolution or something.;) :D

yeah, and keep and eye on your kidneys. Bruise trades them on the black market.

Yvsa,
I kind of suspected he might be joking, but wanted to make sure anyhow. This forum is made up of some of the finest folks around, and I consider it a privilege to be back here among friends. If there's anybody I'm not square with, all they have to do is let me know, and I'll do my best to set it right.

As far as me being knocked up by Bruise, physically impossible, mentally disgusting, but funnier'n he11 :p

Sarge

Good to see you again Sarge. There was a lot of folks worried about you there for a good while  nice to see you're still kicking. Retired. Wow. :D

Bruise...you already got dibs on my kidney...you said we were even!

The Sarge knife shows up fairly regularly in horn, wood and antler...something over 60 have been made so far and they never hang around long.

Hey Greg,

You might have heard the sighs of relief coming from Cantinistas all over. Welcome home. It is good to have you back, intact.

So far, 71 Sarge knives have been sold, all on the deals of the day. I figured I'd stop keeping track after 100. It was named for you, and all the sargents of the services, who handle the essential, but not terribly glorious jobs that have to be done.

Here are a few links: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=302082

Then, my review: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=322575 I didn't care for the wood handles, but the antler and horn seem big enough, and with the right handle curvature to work perfectly.

I'm very glad you are back, friend.

We got Bill Sanders over there now, and Spectre's waiting to see if he can finish his last year of college, or if he has to get back to his unit now.

Kis, you old deerslayer, hope you're doing well,

Thanks for the links to the threads, fascinating stuff. If I do get my hands on one of the knives, I'll definitely refer to it as the "Kismet Practical Hunter", would feel a bit odd calling it "Sarge". Sort of puts me in mind of some old Randalls and Marbles that I've seen as far as form following function. Can't wait to test one out dicing up steaks for my next batch of chili. MMMmmmmm, chili :D

Sarge

Welcome back Sarge, and many thanks for your contributions, both to America and this 'lil corner of the internet.

I readeth Olde Threades.

Also, I have a, um, Kismet Practical Hunter and it's a great EDC, lighter than a JKM- at least my horn one is.

bruise has memory lapses, he really owes us all 20 bucks, betcha he fergot tho.

welcome back sarge & thanks for your service.

Welcome Home Sarge.
If you post your address, I bet a Sarge hunter will appear magically at your house....

You're probably right Danny, but I'd feel I was preying on folks' generosity getting one that way. If anything, I still owe a huge debt of gratitude to the HI family of folks on this forum, not the other way around.

Still, I'd be dishonest if I didn't admit to finding your idea tempting. No worries, something worth having is worth waiting, and working, for.

Sarge

you'll get used to them, but never to the civvie way....it will be a trial, especially when you are used to actually getting things done and it seems like 90% of the folk you deal with have only the function of trying to stop anything constructive from happening.....meanwhile, give those shot knees a rest like the doc told you to do.....

The knees are okay, but the barstids announced with great glee that they'd determined I have some hearing loss, as if they'd uncovered a great mystery. I just gave 'em my crustiest look and said, "no $hi+, you really think so".

Sarge

Welcome back Sarge! Thanks for your long service. Send me your address and I'll send you a Kismet Practical Hunter, I've got some of the early ones. Gave out several others to very good responses.

I gotta admit, I kept staring at the thread wondering who on earth is this Sylvrfalcn guy, and where was he. Then I finally opened the thread, and doh its Sarge. Welcome back, it is good to hear you are safe and home. :D
