Well, I for one think the title is outstanding. With out grabbing attention like that, you risk not seeing all the beautiful knives.

STeven, that Burke hunter jumped right off the page at me. Amazing.. Even after I found out whos dirty hands have been all over it.

:)

Thats my fav of this thread so far.

Lorien,

Since not many "horny" folders have been displayed among
the beautiful knives shown here, I thought that the time
has come to exhibit the horniest (in this case also from sexiest)
set of folders that I have ever shown in one of my books....

These are a set of four folders by Steve Hoel made in the years (1984-86).

All four knives have 416 steel frames, heat treated to 28 Rc. and ATS-34 blades,
heat treated to 60 Rc. Their horn inlays represent the four species of
wild sheep found in North America
.

From the lower left:
Large Trapper (1984). Rocky Mountain Big Horn Sheep inlay.
Overall length 7 1/2" (188 mm).

Model J (1984). Inlays are of the very rare Desert Big Horn Sheep.
Overall length 6 3/4" (169 mm).

Model I (1985). Inlays are Stone Sheep horn from British Columbia.
Overall length 5 1/2" (138 mm).

"Model H (1986). Inlays are Dall Sheep horn from Alaska.
Overall length 4 3/4" (119 mm).

The knives are from the collection of the late Dr. Makoto Suzuki of Japan.

All the best,
David Darom (ddd)

Thanks to all for this thread.

Lotsa super handle material - not to mention the outstanding blades - but special mention must go to Marcel for Scott Slobodian's piece with that gorgeous hunk and handle of musk ox. Man, I just love that stuff.

Well, Murray is clearly the horniest of us all. :D

(Sorry... I couldn't help myself...)

STeven - I LOVE that Burke damascus piece.

Roger

That IS an amazing display Murray. All in all there are MANY amazing knives in this thread.

Peter

I think that this is a good place to ask both collectors
and makers to add some details about the knives when
they post their pictures.

It is not enough to post knife porn (a la horny stuff) some
people like to see the intimate details in writing too.......

All the best,
David Darom (ddd)

I really love threads like this after all the other BS. Show and Tell is so much better than discussing market conditions etc.

Polished Sheephorn:

Win - I've often wondered why we don't see more polished sheep horn. I love the transluscent colour-shifts that happen in the layers below all the gnarly surface texture.

Roger

Zoiks! I just woke up. I'm not sure what to say after going through all these pictures, there is some simply amazing stuff going on.
Thanks:thumbup:

Here is one of our model 1 hunters with a sheep horn handle. It has a file worked 3.5 inch blade of CPM S30V, a black linen micarta bolsters with mosaic pins and stainless thong hole liner.

This is a picture of a carved deer "horn" handle knife Charlie made a couple of years ago. I know it's not real horn but neither is a lot of the handle material being shown and the picture fits the season. We hope every one has a Mery Christmas, a Happy new year and we really hope that everybody that has a knife ordered has a job:D Those that don't or are worried about loosing them, will be in our prayers.
