I'm going CRKT crazy!!!

Never mentioned anything about Quality. It's funny you quote my comment about Quality when I said nothing about it, though you turn around and add how the quality isn't worth the price.
l

You said from "your experience" you find them better. That implies a reference to quality, does it not? If you meant something else, okay. And I said the quality on CRKT wasn't worth the price(in most cases). I will however happily put the Taiwanese or Seki Spydercos up against any US production knife you can bring me, to name one example.

As for other products- I'm very tempted by their new hawk called the Rune.

I wouldn't think it means exactly just quality but several other factors that I think about before buying something like Prices, Warranty/Customer service, Materials used, and some other things. I mean all in all you could chalk it up to being a good chunk of quality but its not an eliminating factor.

Quality isn't that important as I do love Emersons lol

I also think that the Taiwanese Spydercos are the nicest they manufacture but recently I think their prices have been getting higher.

Like you mentioned, a friend of mine had one of the CRKT Tomahawks or Hatchet (can't remember) but we took it on a camping trip and I was actually surprised how nice it was.. Compared to other offerings at the same price. Wanted to pick one up myself but haven't yet

I only have one CRKT and its a M21. I love the design but it doesn't get much pocket time anymore. I just wished it and other CRKT knives had better steel. Ontario found a way to put D2 in the Rat 1s for $40ish, I wish CRKT would follow. I'd even take VG10 at $70ish like the Delica 4. CRKT has some great designs, I just want a better steel and I'm willing to pay for it.

Many of us are. That is why you are now beginning to see Sandvik steel in some of CRKT's offerings. I like Sandvik but would like them to offer more steels.

Heck, I would be happy if they only offered Sandvik and AUS8 but improved their HT and QC.

The only CRKT knife that I have is a Shenanigan and it is pretty good for the $25 that I paid for it. AUS8 steel with a nice flipping action but some type of polymer scales and a thin locking liner. I have taken it tubing down the Comal river a couple of times, bought it specifically for this use, and it has cut lots of rope and never rusted on me.

Overall a decent user knife that I don't worry about losing.

I have been sniffing around that Kangee ;)

... With their materials, QC, and fit/finish issues they are over priced compared to their competitors... They choose low quality in both materials and fit/finish.

You sure love pissing on CRKT in multiple threads. What bothers you about the fact that some people like CRKT and enjoy their product? The purpose of this thread is to celebrate what is good about CRKT, can't you just let us have some fun?

CRKT Jettison. A fine piece of knife in the under $30 category.

I love CRKT knives. They fit my old age budget for my knife addiction and I think they are well worth the money. They are not for investment, just for my own personal entertainment. I like collecting knives and own quite a few "nice junkers". They will all go to the grandkids to destroy or loose one of these days anyway. LOL

I have experience too, and I have overseas made knives that blow away anything I own that's American made. So basically, I don't give a crap where something is made, as long as it's good. And there are PLENTY of overseas knives at LEAST as good as American made stuff(at least as far as production stuff goes, can't speak for the midtech/custom scene). If you want to be the flag waving patriotic American and buy American only fine, that's your prerogative, but please don't act like it's all about the quality.

As for CRKT though, I don't like most of their designs, and a lot of their stuff is overpriced for the materials/quality level involved, so I don't own much of it. Couple of Ripples, their Woods Chogan and Kangee tomahawks(now THOSE are a good buy), couple of fixed blades, and their machetes simply cause I like machetes(the only CRKT I've gotten this year are the 16 and 18" "Chanceinhell" machete line, doubt I'll be getting any other CRKT stuff this year either)

Trigger alert!!! Haha why are you getting so upset because this guy prefers to buy things made by his countrymen? You bashed the guy for being a "flag waving patriotic American," (not a bad thing anyway) then in the next paragraph you say you dont like most of CRKT's products yourself.

Seriously, what is the problem with 8cr13mov steel and its bad rep? It gets the job done, is reasonably hard, takes a decent edge and holds it fairly well. Knifecenter even lists it as a good value-for-money steel.

You sure have a problem with me sharing my opinion on a forum. Have all the fun you want. You are free to ignore what I and others have to say about crkt:thumbup:

I'm fine with 8cr so long as it is priced accordingly and the product is quality. This is where crkt falls short for me compared to its competitors.

So you assume CRKT is the only company that makes stuff overseas?

I have no problem with you sharing your opinion on this or any forum. However, per original post, the point of this thread is to celebrate CRKT, not tear them down.

Check the OP again. Where does it say to only "celebrate" CRKT? The wording is "tell me what you think of them":

Why do they have to release all of these awesome knives all at once? It started with the Snap lock and the Aux and then the Batum compact and Pilar. Now GPKnives has the Hi Jinx Z so I had to order that Too! Thank goodness all these knives are on the cheaper side of things, but they are starting to add up.......

Anybody else check out any of the new CRKT knives yet? Let me know what you think of them.....but please no complaints about materials such as steel and handles.

You've been here long enough to know dictating how a thread should go is not how things work. Even so, I'm not tearing them down based on their steel per the OP instructions. I'm voicing an honest opinion on why CRKT has not worked for me in the past and how that experience means the new lineup is not working for me now. I'm fine with lower priced knives with more inexpensive materials. CRKT just does not offer value for those inexpensive materials compared to other value lines when I take into account price, fit/finish, and QC. If they would address these issues sufficiently there are several of the new line up I would gladly own. I'm not just trashing them like you are implying. I'm giving a reasoned opinion formed through experience rather than just baseless complaints.

For all the attention you seem to be paying me in this thread (rather than the topic) you aren't very clear on what is actually happening in this discussion.
