I'm going CRKT crazy!!!

On a whim, I picked up an Amicus Compact off the exchange. I'm a fan of Vox designs, and it didn't break the bank. For what it's worth, I carried it for a week at the warehouse and it held up well. It feels good in the hand and sharpens up easily. Can you dig it??

I've been enjoying my crkt harsey ruger go'n'heavy compact (bloody long name). I wish it had a pocket clip, but the ergo's and fit and finish are good. Love the way it looks, is it just me or are Harsey designs gold.

I must admit though the action and lock feel somewhat 'gummy'. I can't quite put my finger on why. Kinda weird.

For the price a bump up to aus 8 would be nice though.

Harsey is a knife god! I have a Go-N-Heavy full size arriving tomorrow, didn't know about em till I read your post.. 10 minutes later had my order placed!

Clips are easy to fabricate for this style / type of frame, I'm thinkin about doing a thread about that and yes, AUS 8 or S35VN would be real nice [and I shall dream on :D]

had a Crawford Kasper, couldn't stand it [barf], so I sold that and then there was that M16 which served me well, one of my first "real" folders.

I can't see myself paying the prices they ask for their folders, all seem overpriced and worse value than any of my Spydercos or Cold Steels, but I sure like their designs, their collabs, and I believe they have great creative ideas and nice concepts.
I love their fixed blades and own many different models, and I also dig their Guppie, Zilla and other multitools, but have sold all my CRKT folders or given them away, and I don't care for their offerings in that category anymore.

Their fixed blades are quite the opposite IMO, one of the best bang-for-your-buck options available today, from neck knives to choppers, from the smallest necker to the biggest woods blades.

Got the Ruger G-N-H yesterday!! Yeehaw MFer... 6" handle / no clip but it carries well in the watch pocket of my jeans with the upper region of the handle secured by placing it under my belt [tactical belt, of course!]. Got the serrated version ...so the plain edge will be next on my hit list. Woo hoo, I'm stoked I chopped up a buncha rope, and a section of 1" heater hose NO PROBLEM!

I think I'm going to have to pick up a Pilar. Tony from Everyday Commentary put up a great review of it. If I like it maybe I'll pick up that Amicus too, it looks great.

People that hate CRKT also hate puppies and kittens. ;)

I don't hate CRKT but I understand why whey do. Kinda like how I understand wife beating but don't condone it (bad politically incorrect old joke!). So many great designs that are cheaply made. Maddening!!! I would gladly pay more for better steels and Ti liners!

I have a Pilar that should show up tomorrow! Can't wait! I have been waiting for this Vox design for a long time! I plan on putting it through its paces but I wish it was a better blade steel. This could have been a Spyderco Techno killer! But I head that there will be a Techno 2 coming soon but that is for another thread.

Thanks for the quick review! I was thinking of getting one and regrinding it to a blade shape of an F5 Vox knife.

I've owned a bunch of CRKT knives over the years and I've been pretty rough on a few styles using them as daily carry knives. When they came out with their Carson flipper knives, I was hooked on the feature - almost every one I have has a flipper. That being said - I have never broke one. Yes, I have re-sharpened numerous times because of their steel types - but it is a knife! I don't think I have ever paid more than 40$ for any knife from them. They aren't the highest quality compared to some, but they are always functional and reliable and I have no remorse for them when I am rough on them. I don't baby them because I paid too much money for them - I use them as tools. Here's my picks for my favorites: - M16/M21 Knives with the newer lock- non zytel handles (probably M16-13 spear point was my favorite), McGinnis Tuition, McGinnis Suma and Mah Eraser (although it's a tad thick for pocket carry). I'm also pretty happy with the new Jettison 6130- very smooth action. I have two hawks that are also very rugged and reliable - the Woods Chogan and Woods Kangee. I'll continue to use their knives for my daily carry work knives and always look forward to trying new flipper designed models.

Battoned and chopped with my Amicus, just to see it could take it. It did and did so well. Lock never failed whilst doing so.
Only major complain about the knife is the overly soft pivot screw that stripped. Hope CRKT delivers the extra pivot soon, being that I do not live in the US

sent from a highly secretive CIA base somewhere in the deep jungles of South America shhh

I'd be too scared of breaking my knife to do that

So I'm bumping for pictures.

I got this for Christmas from my parents

It's centered, locks right, it's light, rolls on IKBS and the build seems comparable to Taiwan Spyderco's.
Yikes those tolerances/quality is not great, but it is centered at the tip, is it centered at the pivot cause not looking like it in the photos. also the scales don't look the same side to side (the milling). I'm a snob apparently but I pay extra for high quality. I know it would never bother most people that get these, but maybe I'm just OCD.

The bright side to this is, he makes a custom and a midtech of the same knife. Where is crkt doesn't ever make anything but a low end version.

The Crossbones is sweet looking. But as many others have I tend to lean away from CRKT. If I had some spare cash though, I'd probably pick up a Pilar, something about that design has always called to me.

My CRKT collection. My favorite brand of knife, all have served me well, especially this one...

Let's put some things into perspective this AUS 8 Taiwanese knife that won best import knife at blade show 2017 https://www.akti.org/news/crkt-crossbones-wins-imported-knife-year/ costs what the Millit pocket clip did for my Sebenza, or I could buy 10 of these for the price of my Sebenza. It's a fine knife, in decent enough steel, well put together, and on IKBS for ~$50.
