I just spent 5 minutes in a PM trying to explain to you why I want to buy the new monitor!

I plan to make another trip to Pahrump on Thursday, Nov 9 - I will leave right from work. If my boss is in a good mood, I am gonna sneak out early. Friday is a holiday for us.

I could only get a hotel reservation for Thursday night, so I will be returning home on Friday afternoon/evening. I may try to check with the hotel to see if they have any cancellations for Friday night so I can stay an extra day and help Dave some more. I tried to get the reservation while I was there, but they were already booked solid.

I expect the monitor for Dave's computer to show up at the end of this week. Then I will have enough time to hook it up and make sure everything is working before I take it out to Dave on the 9th.

I actually was wanting to take it out on the 4th, but could not get a room for the 3rd or the 4th.

Dave's apartment isn't really set up for overnight guests. At least not yet. So staying at Dave's is not an option at this point in time.

I'll be able to see what sort of progress Kristen has made on getting Dave's apartment back in order and cleaned up. And I can also help with whatever needs to be done.

So that's the plan for right now. I'll keep you posted on my plans to visit Dave and also the computer situation.

Change in plans. I will be taking Dave's computer to him on Nov. 4th. I'm just hoping it will be working by then. Regardless, I'll be going on the 4th to help Kristen get Dave's place cleaned up.

I talked to Dave's mom last night and told her that Dave needs a new recliner, so I am going to find a decent one that is not too expensive and gether the information so she can order it. Hoping to find a place in Pahrump. Maybe on the 4th I can drive around and see what stores are there. Las Vegas would probably be the best best though.

Judy it is a very noble thing you are doing, I really wish I could help as VG was a great source of entertainment for me when I started here, but alas I am up to me arse in alligators and don't have the resources to drain the swamp. If there is anything I can do that is non monitary please let me know (I may have a coat or something he could use depending on the size, and I could ship it to him I am sure).

The Gerbil's new monitor arrived yesterday. I hooked up the Mini-Mac and everything seems to be working just fine. I didn't try to do anything on it, but at least I didn't get any error messages.

Tonight I am going to configure it for his internet connection and try that out.

I am driving back to Pahrump on Saturday to hook up the computer and do some more cleaning and organizing.

I am really hoping that Dave will be online Saturday night.

I spoke to VG earlier, so I knew Judy had the monitor. He's still a little concerned about typing one handed, I told him nobody would care if there wasn't proper capitalization. Besides if it really bothered him he can use Caps Lock when he had to use a capital letter. But, I would have to put my foot down if he typed IN ALL CAPS!!!! :eek:

He sounded really good today, not all doped up. The reason for that is he still can't get at his meds locked in his safe. So although he was in pain he sounded better than normal. I promise you nobody wants his normal state.

I think he's getting excited about Judy' next visit, getting back online and back here on BFC. :thumbup:
 
WOW, had no idea what's been going on & all I can do is say Thanks Judy, you are truly and angel yourself.
