It has become very smooth in the few days that I have had it, although still not quite as glassy smooth as the Al Mar.

Dude! Bring that 710 over to my place and I'll fix that right up for you. There is no reason it shouldn't be smoother than a Al Mar SERE 2000. You should clean it, warm it up, apply some Militec-1, and adjust the pivot accordingly.

It gets smoother everyday I use it, but still not quite there, but awful close. It might just be the difference in the opening action as the Al Mar opens almost like it is assisted because of the blade weight. I have cleaned it and lubed with FP-10, which helped. Probably just needs to be used more, which I don't have a problem with . It is still very, very smooth.
