I'm out. For good.

Good time of year to move here. Winter just ended so that means our next season is here "construction". Not sure where your moving from but here are some tips.
1. If your not from altitude then stay out of the mountains for a couple of weeks until your body gets used to the air. The tiredness goes away.
2. I-225 is always jammed.
3. When you get directions they will be based off our two main roads. East or west of I-25 and north or south of I-70.
4. We don't really have any "bad" neighborhoods, but you can tell when it's not a good one.
5. If you travel too far north and it starts to suck, turn around your in Wyoming. Just kidding Wyoming is great also. Seriously, if I could find a job in Wyoming I would move there.

Good luck with your journey.
Things really can get out of hand. My knife accumulation seems to grow overnight sometimes and I'm like "Okay, two days ago I had 8 knives, today I have 12". I think we also get really carried away in the beginning, knives are kind of new and exciting, your eyes are opened to so many knives, so many types, so many brands and makers, you think all of them seem awesome so you want to try them all. Then you want better and more expensive knives, now your horizons are broadened to higher end knives. Etc, etc, etc.

It really can be a roller coaster and good on you for doing what you feel is best.

Best of luck.

I know exactly what you mean with this knife obsession.

...in fact you seemed to be everywhere I was on the "for sale" threads either putting in an offer or exclaiming "I'll take it" -I guess I'll say thanks for less competition but on the other hand I may be in trouble.

God Bless and really sick to your guns on the life changes, btw don't get into guns either, I do that too.

Crazy though, how far will you be from Golden?

.....Anyways, off too check my eBay saved knife searches, then hopefully sleep??

-Joe

You're gonna quit knives AND smoking in Colorado USA Earth? Good luck.

If you are spending money and time you don't have, a break should do you well.

I try to keep my knives paired down to a core of users. I don't buy knives I can't afford. I usually sell a knife before I buy a new one (the more expensive ones, at least).

It has gotten pretty bad a points. I have not bought a gun in 8+ years! That is a long time!

Shoot, I even traded a gun for two knives (custom, and expensive high end production). An AR pistol! Which I never ever though I would do!

I still spend too much "free time" on here, and it really is a place that can suck up all your time and treasure.

Sad to see a member leave but good luck on your journey and I hope our (speaking for the forum) paths meet again.

I wish you the best! Escaping to a new place does not allow one to escape from their problems. Happiness needs to come from within, so I hope you're not escaping as a means of change... that never works. It sucks you're giving up a passion/hobby. Eliminating those small pleasures you have can be detrimental. Anyway, I wish you the best. Just realize you can never escape from yourself, even half way across the globe.

Knives isn't your problem, it's deeper than that.

Anyways, just cut down.

Pick just a favorite few and pick up less expensive hobbies.

Lots of people joke about their knife addiction, but most fail to realize that it can be very real and destructive if not kept in check.
.

Yep... I have done it with knives and guns. Both at the same time, for awhile....

6 or 8 on your watch list ? I currently have 6 PAGES. You aren't the one with the problem :D

Good luck man!!

I was there about 20 years ago, and my knife addiction was totally out of hand. The better half helped me, and I idid a huge downsize. Now I keep it down to a half a cigar box of knives. If a new one comes in, an old one has to go out. It's still hard. I wish you well with your new life.

Carl.

Blessings in your new direction. Anything can become an addiction and can take over your life. Recognizing it is the big first step. Congrats and prayers for success.

Good move! Balance is vital.
I'll be joining you. I just want a "few" nice things.
