I'm (past)due to host a giveaway - Winner is Railsplitter!

Thanks for the generous give-away.

I have always loved the medium 3 blade stockman, here's an example.

I received a Schrade Walden stockman similar to this style from my grandfather many years ago. I've been hooked ever since.

(Over here!)

Last night, I read about Paradiggum's black Peanut and Medium Jack, and wrote in his thread about how much the black Medium Jack catches my attention amidst many other flashier Cases. This morning, still thinking about it, I spent some time browsing sites and looking for more pictures of said Medium Jack.

After being away from the computer for a while today (imagine), I returned to find your giveaway. Hence, my excitement. :-)

I have always, always loved pocketknives. I had only SAKs until December. My oldest SAK is a (small) Tinker I bought when I was 10; my newest is roughly two years old, a gift from a friend.

This past December, one of my sons asked for a knife for his birthday. I asked a friend for a recommendation, with the Mini Copperlock among his suggestions. I brought one in for my son, at which point I oohed and aahed and Wanted. As did my oldest son, whom I then gave his own Mini Copperlock in January, for his birthday. We were on a roll, me not least.

My "favorite traditional knife" is most accurately, "Yes!" I've loved learning about the different patterns, seeing everyone's pictures, and discovering the strengths and weaknesses of the knives in my possession. I've also taken more pictures in the last three months than I have in years. I am grateful to all of you who take the time to tell your own stories and share your knowledge, and for your photographs. I love looking at them for their own sake, but they're also very helpful (I wouldn't have known how beautiful the SBJ is had it not been for the pictures posted here). I can't separate the enjoyment I gain from them day-to-day with the community here that led me to them, and don't want to.

For the purposes of this generous giveaway, however, here's my "favorite."

Of my traditional knives, all of which have become mine since the beginning of the year, my Case Swayback Jack continually wins and/or confirms my affection. I love its combination of weight and smoothness, the curves of the blades, its feel in my hand when I cut with it.

Thanks.

~ P.

I have a bunch of Gec's and Cases (yep, cvsbj), a few customs, but almost always carry a Vic soldier or pioneer. I'm in - thanks.

My fav is this, I can't seem to break away from it! its pretty useful to me and I have found uses for the cap lifter other than opening bottles or as a screw driver...one handy piece!

Thanks for the chance!

Thanks for this opportunity, Count me in for that cv pen knife

My favorite pattern would have to be the Swayback jack with the pen blade switched out for a sheepsfoot.

As for my favorite knife, well nothing seems to beat sentiment. This was a Mariner that was in my grandfather's collection.

Very generous of you! Thanks for the chance!!!

My favorite is this Case Copperlock in SS and blue bone; slim, safe, light, and so pocket friendly!

I'm in. Thanks for the chance.

My favorite traditional knife that I have is my Queen Gunstock with amber bone. I don't carry it as much as I probably should, but it feels perfect in my hand when I use it.

There are so many other knives out there, though, that I wind up putting the Queen in my drawer so I can try out other models.

How very nice of you! My favorite traditional knife would have to be my Case XX 61024 1/2! I got it back when I was probably 6 or 7 from my Grandfather and have had it ever since!

It has seen better days... but I plan on doing a full restoration sometime in the future!

The good news is once I win this contest you wont have to mail me the knife I can just pick it up!

Thanks,
Dylan

My favorite at the moment is my John Lloyd Swayback Jack with mammoth scales. I lost it the night I received it, but my wife searched the field the next day and I got it back. Creamy scales, good size, and best of all a wharncliffe. In general I prefer a multi blade, but this one just stays in top of my mind when asked for a favorite!

Thank you for the chance (although I'm not an overseas member I hope Canadians and Mexicans are invited too! ;) ).

Awesome giveaway!
My all time favorite is my Case jack with burnt stag handles. They are soooooo smooth it's sick. Someone at the factory put in some extra effort that day when she came across their bench!

Awwkkk! I have to choose just one!!! It's been no secret that I love my mini copperhead. And now, just today, I received the one you mentioned a little while ago in another thread and you offered it to me for a good price. It is really gorgeous and I like it even better than the one I already had. So, today for sure it is the Ducks Unlimited mini copperhead that you sold me.

I'm in! Great giveaway. My favorite slipjoint at this point is a worn-out old Schrade Walden 787 Muskrat pattern. I converted one of the clip blades to a sheepsfoot blade. I like the slim profile, single-spring design, and double-end pattern.

Thanks again,

Frosty

My favorite traditional pattern is the GEC Cuban Stockman. Your choice of stag, horn, bone, wood or acrylic, plus 440C or 1095 steel.
