I won't know until I give it a try, but it seems pretty solid.

You see, SOMEONE JUST DROVE THROUGH MY WORKSHOP

I lost probably $75 or $100 worth of belts and the grinder table is toast, but I think the grinder will be okay. The motor wasn't touched.

fortunately, I was dragging my ass and working on email and wasn't out doing the final run of 600 grit on csaba's knives. Or *I* would be toast.

Guess this slows my orders down a day while I do a new table.

photos soon

driver was -- well, this is the SECOND TIME they've gone through the fence. No joke. There's a korean church across the fence from me. They are great neighbors, polite, don't mind my forging and I don't mind the christian rock band practice in the evenings.

But, this being a university town, their congregation includes a lot of exchange students, some of whom are a bit new to driving. No alcohol or drugs involved, just a slippery gear shift.

Those poor blaze belts...i see them bleeding on the ground...it breaks my heart to see unused blaze belts subjected to such violence...poor lil guys...*nuzzle nuzzle*...

the scary part is that she clipped the grinder and the table, but- well, you can see which way things are facing (all the photos are after we propped up the roof off the car and backed the table away) and if I'd been there, I would have been dead center hood ornament material.

Wow that sucks! Its a darn good thing no one was hurt though. I hope this does not turn out to be worse than it looks. Good luck

wow.. that sucks christof... i'm glad you're okay man... :) that would have pissed me off to no end...

Well, Jessica was JUST taking the boyo to his workshop, had just walked out the front door to get him on the trailabike. I wasmessing with email and our 2 year old daughter was playing train in the living room (clear view) and WABAM!. So My first reaction isn't to be pissed, it's to grab a tool and run out front to see- and they are fine, both looking at me like I'm crazy, and so I go out back and.... there's a car in my workshop!

I was pissed for about 30 seconds, but I have a mantra for these situations. "I'm not the one in the T72" - Every day is a bonus day after the desert, and it's just stuff. I would have been more pissed if the grinder had been smashed, since I would have been out of commission for a few weeks instead of 2 days to build a new table and square everything up. But not that much more pissed. Maybe 90 seconds.

eehhhhh, a day of reroofing. a day or two to make a sweet new grinder table and get everything aligned.

I powered the coote on for 15 seconds (the belt is a touch loose) and the belt tracking looks good.

Just so glad I wasn't standing there. I spend hours right -there- every day.

You got a choice: get rid of the neighbors or work out a new layout for where you stand.
