Impact resistance of a Coote grinder

Wow man, good thing EVERYONE involved was ok. Looks like the car did alright too. The steel/concrete pole thing sounds like a damn good idea right about now... on their dime.

As much as we complain about people's driving in North America we are some of the best most courteous drivers compared to the Asians and Italians particularly.

The cultures in those countries see driving as a contact sport. In Vancouver people who can't speak English can have an interpreter in the car to help when they take the test but they have often been accused of helping with the driving as well as the translating. Also I knew one asian guy who took he test over 100 times at 500$ a pop for other people. He said the guys at the Canadian version of the DMV(ICBC) never even blinked when he took the test3 times in one month as different people.

I am happy everyone is OK ,you should have them putin some of the tank trap/planters though at church expense.

I was thinking of some 20 inch logs.that's what high centered her car in the first place.

Plant some trees too?

They will take some time to grow in, but will look nice and trees are damn strong.

Glad you're OK. It does look like you need a new place to stand though.

You might try what some neighbors of my parent's in law did: They're at the
end of a T intersection which people keep plowing through. When some
road construction was going on nearby they asked for some of the rocks
that were dug up. Their front lawn now has a row of about 3' high boulders
across it...

Funny thing is they have planted trees, just not planned out well. She missed the one tree that's behind the main part of the shop but 3 feet. Another 5 need to go in and all would be perfect. Putting a 3 foot rock in between each one would finish the job as they grow in.

But, as I said, they have a huge construction, rehab, landscaping project for the spring. would have been this year but some old biddies on the other side of the church made a stink about having people singing in the neighborhood. *sigh*

Too bad you didn't get an Amish church next door. A horsecart wouldn't do nearly as much damage to the shop! :D

Scary stuff fella ! Good to know that no-one was hurt though. The big rocks and trees sound like a damned good idea to me (from the churches pocket of course)
I think if someone did that to my 'shop I'd be gutted. I know you don't want to go down the road of insurance claims and suing, but are you SURE that grinder doesn't need replaciong ? I mean, are you really sure ? ;)

The "srop sign" comment is almost exactly what my Manager said over 2 years ago when some Korean engineers almost killed one of my fellow track drivers.

They were driving a prototype Santa Fe and blew the "srop sign" in front of the track shed where we pull out onto the track, since we have right away, we rarely look to our right. Wellllll these guys were doing 80+ and T-boned my buddy in a Sonata. Knocked it about 70yards down the track. All you could see were airbags everywhere (Sonata has side curtain bags in addition to the normal 2 C-pad ones). He had a bruise on his shoulder and that's about it. He decided to go home that night..... they shipped the Koreans home. Our manager told the safety people, "they failed to yield at the srop sign."
