(in)Complete list of Kershaw knives

Lately I have been EDCing a 4400ST. It is a Made in Japan 2 bladed DWO. 1 plain edge clip type blade and 1 sort of a wharncliffe type shape with full serrated edge.

Thanks for that, added to the list. I find this referred to as a "Wade Officer", rather than a "D.W.O." like the 3000 series, so that is how I listed it... as always, anyone should feel free to correct me!

Glad to include a bit of my meager knowledge. I love these Wade Officers.

Thanks to presz and mmkjohnson1 for the additions, I will hopefully get them added to the list soon...

Kershaw 1000 OCC 10th Anniversary composite blade

You should add photo to each model :)

In my personal opinion, since we don't have a Kershaw specific forum here any longer, feel free to discuss anything Kershaw in this thread if you would like... post pictures, link to reviews, ask for suggestions, a thread for Kershaw fans! I am going to check with the Mods so I am sure what is NOT allowed to be posted in this thread.

The BF forum for Kershaw has been archived & is all still available (see bottom of main page menu). Before my time( at least before I became interested in Kershaws), but looks like a trove of good information.

So I'm a fixed blade, outdoors-user kind of guy (KaBar USMC's, Ontario Spec Plus, Beckers). And I've just gradually come around to getting interested in folders.

What folding Kershaw would you guys recommend for EDC? This would be for leisure time, casual clothes, freaking out sissies in an office is NOT anything I have to worry about. Usual EDC daily tasks plus some hiking in the woods. I won't baton logs with it, but I'd like reasonably sturdy, at least as sturdy as my Vic SAK main blades (love my SAKs).
I LIKE flippers. Plain edge usually appeals more than serrations (I have plenty of serrated fixed blade knives if I am going to be sawing palm fronds or vines).
I'm not a design snob. I want to keep it under $35 so losing/breakage won't be a big deal.

I'm looking seriously at the Kershaw Chill, the Clash, the Volt, maybe the Knockout. Looks like all the Kershaws pretty much offer 3" blades and 4" grips, so it's a matter of grip ergonomics and blade shape.
And I'm open to other suggestions.
So what do you recommend for somebody just getting into folders, looking for one or two good EDC's and not the start of a massive collection?

It was before my time here too. I have found much useful info there that I have used in this list, I really need to read the archive more when I get time!

Those are some seriously different knives you are considering, IMO. I have all but the Volt (me crazy), do have a Volt II though. The Chill is quite a small knife, relatively. The Clash is nice and has a nice price, but it has a polyimide handle, which I tend to not prefer. Don't have the Volt, so won't comment. The Knockout is the most expensive of the ones you mention, but I personally really like the Knockout... aluminum handles, VERY thin but still large. Also worth mentioning is that the Knockout has just come out with a green handle and black blade, really nice looking IMO (though I think the pricing currently reflects the fact that this version just came out).

Others worth looking at, off the top of my head, would be the Cryo, Cryo II, Thermite. The Leek is VERY popular with many people. I prefer the Shallot (bigger version of the Onion family than the Leek). Kershaw just has SO many nice options...

Is it just me, or does this look like a blem? :p

I mean, seriously, is supposed to look that way?

the first list put up by rsngfrc is that the whole list of all the models of kershaw knives...

The first two posts contain ALMOST every Kershaw model that I am currently aware of, but I am SURE there are a great many models that are still missing. I continue to work on this, but I think this is probably the most complete list currently in existence. I suspect that there is likely a great many OLD models missing (considering Kershaw is 40 years old), which are difficult for me to track down. Also, I'm not adding 2014 models that have been announced until they actually become available, and their may be some available that I haven't added yet, I try to monitor this. (I heard that the Emersons are not due till Q3, by the way).

I noticed the Fixed Tone, 3431X at Academy recently. Didn't see this model number listed in the list. I DID see a 3430 though. Is this a typo in the list or another with two model numbers?

I agree, there are models with more than one model number. I just noticed earlier tonight that Kershaw's website lists the Shuffle as model# "3800 or 8700", which I don't understand yet. Also, I have seen pictures of the Junkyard Dog II (1725BLKST) with both black and satin blades (which I discussed elsewhere here, I believe the satin blade is a later version and they didn't bother changing the model#). I just have a 'suspicion' that people are wanting to stick an "A" in "FLG", since the knife pictures a "FLAG", but I added a note to this model about the possibility of a 1660FLAG model# existing, until we are more certain.

Looks like the original Shuffle with black handle is the 3800. Kershaw's site specifies Steel: 8Cr13MoV or 3Cr13, bead-blasted finish.

The pink handle is the 8700PINK, the white (snow) handle is 8700SNOW and the black handle with the black blade is the 8700BLK. Not sure if the metal is different from the 3800. Kershaw's site doesn't say what the blade metal is on these three. I'll have to check what is written on the blades when I get home.
