In Honor of Oktoberfest!!

This is a Hen & Rooster USA Bicentennial knife from A.G. Russell...The images are from fewpop which is appropriate since Ford was kind enough to send me one as a gift:

Here's an older workman's knife, made in Solingen.
My best information is, it is a "sacking" knife. One would use it to open/re-close/repair sacks of grain/ feed and the like. Maybe for handling barley in the beer industry:eek:!! Happy Oktober!!

Found one more in my archives. The only German made salesman's sample I've ever seen, but I am sure there are more!! Here, the tangs are stamped on both sides;

More great examples guys. To answer the question posed earlier, the scales on the World's Fair knife are aluminum. Here is another of similar construction. This one must be from the 1930s as it shows the Delaware river bridger.

S~K,

Wow!. That is an incredible example. I am pleased that you showed it here.. Unfortunately, I cannot even come close to trying to match such a fine example.. Many Blessings for your contribution! :)..

But, here is another more modern German made knife..

Thanks for the compliment sunnyd. Those are two great stag-handled knives ... I especially like the club shield on the Bulldog.

This is another souvenir knife. Not sure of the date on this one. Any ideas?
