In honor of the other Hinderer thread...

Yessir, this one is a Spanto from one of the runs this year, and I was able to see the little Tri-way logo down on the tang of the blade. Pretty stoked about this one, I'd forgotten about them until you'd mentioned it. I now remember that ChazzyP ChazzyP really enjoys his as well, so definitely going to be a fun mail call next week!
Your mention had me reading back through a string of quotes--and eventually the thread to date--to find that your new acquisition is a Firetac, not some other TriWay nor a Skinny. I hadn't realized that they came in Spantos too--mine's a recurve--and I do indeed enjoy it greatly.

Mine came off the Exchange with a number of excellent mods--aftermarket Micarta scale, distressed clip, copper OTS, brass TD--from our friend Icky Thump Icky Thump and is also a TriWay. Funny thing is it came with PB washers installed and with a full, unopened TriWay kit including PB washers. Turns out the TriWay kit was the wrong one--which is how Icky received the knife when buying fully modded from AZCK--and I went ahead and ordered the proper kit from RHK as I really like having the BBs in my two Skinny's and wanted to try them out in the Firetac. The thing is, however, that the knife is the most hydraulic, free-dropping PB-washered, framelock I've ever handled and the TriWay kit from RHK remains unopened.

Assuming yours comes with the BBs installed, you should give the PBs a shot if you're curious. With the weight of a Spanto blade, I'd imagine the action would be exceptional unless my knife is anomalous. I'm also eager to see your blue-on-blue iteration, as that's a Hinderer combo that's recently caught my attention. As I've been recently taken with RHK's Project X after seeing yours and other's, blue-on-blue on that model would be what I'll look for as I head deeper down the Hinderer rabbit-hole.

And, as it didn't happen without pics, here's one of this particular dog from a few days back....

I don't own a Hinderer yet, but I have several of his designs made by Kershaw and ZT, all good knives. I'm envious of some of the collection pictures people have shared. This many knife nuts aren't wrong, RH makes a great knife.

Im sure that a lemon comes out of RHK occasionally just like all manufacturers but the overreaction and child like behavior of that garage amateur punk is pathetic. Hinderer knived are sought after and command a price for a reason and have a good reputation. Not owning one and from the sidelines Id still say Rick has been responsive to his customers and tweaked designs and options to accommodate people's feedback.

I just got shipping notice on my Eklipse. It’s returning from being modded w/ a choil ( aka XM-18) and DLC. I’m hoping the DLC will give the soft steel some backbone…

Kidneys are overrated.
Hold on there for a moment...
My Missus is doing nightly peritoneal dialysis due to complete kidney failure.
Your comment isn't the least damn bit funny...

Well, then if she doesn't get mad at you for this...

The one that sits higher: it's been soaked in less beer...

...I figure she'll probably forgive my comment made in the absence of personal information.

(At least she doesn't have to put up with me. You on the other hand...)
