So which compromise was better? It depends on the aplication. But to dismiss a steel as inferior after a single (unscientific) test (with a major variable uncontrolled) is stupid.
I have conducted many tests of both scientific and non kind and have conclusively proven that when I chop with VG-10 steel, that I will roll out of the left side of my bed and when I "tinkle", will groan and grunt where as when I chop with infi, I spring outta bed, run for the window and grunt like a dying pig. Furthermore, studies have shown the neighbor living below me tends to call the police 95% of the time.
Thus my conclusion is that even though I read, reread, and rereread what you guys are typing, I still don't get it. Each company produces a fine product, uses a good steel and make people happy. This is good. If it were not good, it would be bad.

Oh I see...you left your medication in Atlanta...![]()
Got a reply from Peter. They tested Busse Combat knives back in 2000 while testing their own knives. This is the test: http://www.fallkniven.se/test.htm, though only the results regarding their own knives are published.
They got medication for people like me?!?![]()

In addition, the Busse results remain unpublished and hence merely a matter of hearsay. If they believe the test has merit, then they should publish the specific results of their Busse testing alongside.
huh???What I find refreshing is that Busse and Fallkniven have found steels that offer excellent userbilities and that it would seem both gentleman have found a customer base that supports them and they in return listen to and support. I feel that this pissing contest of what is better is detracting from both companies as many people look at the customer base and experiences and weigh that in their decision on making the purchase.
Our actions not only affect ourselves, but those around us and those we don't realize are around us. The great thing about Busse Combat, since when I first joined the group is that we never trash talk other companies. Be it that they may not do the same, but that's what differientiated the forum from others that attracted and lured me here.![]()
Of course they can't do that, for obvious reasons.
I think we can put this argument to rest. I'm no longer interested in whether or not INFI is a more expensive material than other blade materials.
I thought Fällkniven AB had tested INFI steel (which would mean that INFI is not exclusive to Busse, and not as expensive as claimed in the second post in this thread), but i had misinterpreted the information at hand.
