Hiya Busse fans,

I'm pretty new to the big knife department and I've completely fallen in love with the kukri design. Suffice to say I don't own a Busse, but I'm very intrigued by INFI :D - I've seen a few pictures of Busse kukris, are these still being made or is the exchange the only place you can find 'em? I tried to search but maybe I'm not using the right criteria.

Anyhoo, feel free to point a newbie in the right direction!

Appreciate it, folks!

Being in Sweden, best bet would be the Exchange.

Occasionally they are a few released at shows, but that wouldn't help you.

Try searching for "Killa Zilla" or "KZII" or "TTKZ", that should bring up some results for you. Good luck!

Ive never done it on a discontinued model but from what I read emailing Garth and asking nicely never hurt anyones chances. Besides for the ex and shows, On-Line Ganzas will from time to time offer some discontinued stuff. Good luck, its a serious blade

One went on the exchange not to long ago for a great price, you can always call the shop and see what they can do or see if someone will proxy for you at Knob Creek ( which seems to be the best bet for shows to score one)

Just be careful with any offers you may receive via email after posting your interest in one, some peoples jacked up prices can leave you feeling oily and like you got stripped down to a speedo before you know what happened:p:D

Thanks for the great replies, certainly got some reading to do :) Which model is the one with the curved handle?

Garth can make you one. They don't have any blanks cut for them, so there's a substantial wait, but it's certainly attainable

Bobby is correct, Test Team Killa Zilla. Its the original or atleast first mass (on busse scale) kukri offered. Came with black paper or coyote scales.

Here is a pic of all versions minus the LE seen above next to the TT, the CG version takes it place.

Sell me that Halloween Kukri NOW ERIC!!! :)

I saw a single KZII at blade, although there may have been more prior to the 10,000 VIPs getting in. I had enough time to pic it up and decide that the KZ TT's I have were more to my liking. Know that both types are very different in balance and weight, the original KZ TT being heavy, curved grip, brutal and able to decapitate a buffalo, while the KZII is lighter, swifter and has a straight handle. I am sure it is just as capable of decapitation as the KZ TT, but they feel very different to me.

Does anyone have the stats of the KZ TT? Weight, OAL, thickness etc. I much prefer the curved handle, but the only other kukris I've handled is a traditional one and Cold Steel's Gurkha so I don't necessarily have a lot of reference points unfortunately.

Also... I'm terrible with names and don't really know of anyone from the Busse crew, who is Garth? :D :D Only name I've come across when talking about Busse is Jerry.

Garth is the Guru of the Grinder. The Maharaja of Metal.

He is the man who makes the knives.

And from what i've heard (zero experience in this) the performance of the KZII far exceeds that of the TTKZ... just fyi

Quick video in action

And here's one of the TTzilla in hand

I prefer the TT grip over the 2 grip personally

Got it!

Anyone with more than zero experience (:D) care to chime in? I'm sure there are a few of you out there that have dismantled some lumber with both of them, right?

LMFAO, man I miss her. I say that a lot but I really really miss that one. And the pumpkin proto (Sorry Havoc long gone x2), that one ate through wood like a mad man. If I get the chance at getting it back Id have a hard to resisting.

Keep your eyes on the exchange, I picked up a sweet KZII for a killer price a few weeks ago from a kind member.
I would say it out chops my NMFBM by a good few strokes.
While experimenting with the handle I found that if I attach a lanyard to the last tube fastener rather than the lanyard hole
it keeps my hand in the sweet spot of the grip rather than sliding back.
Some day I would like to do a side by side with a TTKZ.

Some reviews with lots of pictures of the two major lines. I would go with the TTKZ, as long as your okay with a heavier khukuri. It's equivelant to a 20" ang khola, which is a bit bigger than most find comfortable. The KZII is a good knife, but the pommel swell can hit the wrist, it has a lot of sharp corners, and it's long straight handle doesn't give a completely solid grip in any one position.

With the KZII your probably looking at between 600-700$ usd, and for the TTKZ if you can find one for sale will go for between 650-900$, averaving around 825$.

I love my kukri blades. Only have CS ones. LTC Carbon V and had a Gurka that i sold recently to buy a Busse. Wish I still had it! It was my top chopper but the LTC is pretty good too. I want a curved handle one like "derecdesmond " posted pictures of.
How much are those anyway?
