I like the knives and own two of them but I don't like that they cost more used than new.

IMO there's something wrong with that formula.

Why, what happened to Strider knives?

Research these two things:1) The Busse "Live" cutting demonstration.
2) How many cuts the INFI knife made before it went dull.

Yep... go and search what strider knive "how much" sell a few years ago, don't forget to search what the sell now? the same amount

The setting for sharpening razors on some fixed sharpening systems is 17 degrees. I have found that on my slicers that 20 degrees per side becomes a bit delicate, if any lateral stress is applied.

The Lansky does not sharpen razors. Fixed systems are not used on razors since they have a built in angle guide in the spine. Also, something like 17 degrees total would be straight razor territory, not per side. What steel do you find delicate at 20 per side?
