Ok guys.......

It's been a month since my lower left leg has been amputated (got hit in my truck and then again after I got out of my truck to check on the driver who pulled out in front of me). I'm getting fitted for a temp leg come Tuesday. I planned on wearing that thing out fast since I'm dying to walk again. I will be "testing" it out around our property and I need some toys to play with. I'm sure I will get tired and take breaks.......which will be the perfect time to play (a much needed distraction) with a couple new toys.

As you can imagine, the wife and me have almost zero money to burn on toys, I can't do my job yet and she took family medical leave. The money I save on not buying a membership right now will allow me to buy a knife or two. My problem is I can't do any searching on the blades I can afford. As soon as I get back to work, I will get my membership here!!!

So, here is my question..........

Can you guys please post links (from this forum) on a few knives for me??
Here are the one's I'm intereted in........these types of blades.

Cold Steel: Bushman, Finn Bear, Finn Wolf
Mora: Any and all
Opinel: Any and all
Any Cheaper Knives that yall find interesting for a guy on a super tight buget.

Now, I will take the camera out with me and take pics and try my hand at doing a review or two. I don't have most of the skills yall have on here, but it will be a good learning experience for me and I will "write" it up.

If yall are interested, I gave a quicky version of the accident below. On second thought, I deleted it. If anyone has the itch to know, pm and I will give the story of the accident.

Any links that anyone posts here will be a great help to me.

Thanks,

Scott

Also, I will most likely be ordering from this website www.knifecenter.com. They have some of the blades I'm interested in and good prices. Does anyone have any experience with this company?? Good, bad, or other??

Scott, I'm sorry for your tragic circumstance.. I have a few knives I might be able to send your way...None of them will win a beauty contest..but they'll be fun to play with and they are free for you if you want them,,send me a private message.

I KNEW he was going to do that! You're one of the good ones, Riley.

I have ordered several knives from knifecenter. They are fast and easy to deal with and I've never had a problem.

I just put an edge on a Mora that you are more than welcome to. It too will not win any prizes - but you are welcome to it. Send me a PM as well. Riley, If you were planning on sending a Mora - it is up to you - I can get that one. ;)

TF, I wasn't going to send a mora... I h ave a couple of otheres I was gonna send over, So if you want to send that one it's all you brother... Good looking out Man...

Hey Scott - Sorry to hear about your circumstances. Keep your head up bro!

I've got a Leatherman Kick that needs a good home if you are interested

Other than the wonderful generosity of a lot of the folks on this forum, when it comes to buying, check out this place.

I've got a CS Bushman that I would gladly send. Just send me your address and I'll put it in the mail.

I'm so sorry to hear about the accident BUT your positivity really shines through your post. That's awesome!

I can't say I'm surprised with the behavior of these crazy folks here ( ;) :D ). I'm sure I've got something sharp laying around here if you send me your address.

The great thing these days is you absolutely don't have to spend much at all to get a great field/bushcraft blade. My Mora2000 still gets used more than some of my knives that cost 5 times as much. Plus you can beat and use the snot out of them without feeling bad.

I did myself, right BKA, out for a walk far back in the local woods on my temp and it snapped off. Left me with a long way to crawl. Once you can walk pretty well, ditch the temp for a sturdier permanent prosthesis.

Any questions about getting around, let me know. I've been doing this since 1996.

KnifeCenter is cool. There's a lot of reliable dealers out there, but definitely ask here before you shop: post in the FEEDBACK (The Good, The Bad, The Ugly) forum for advice.

Check out our Exchange forums for better deals: knife knuts selling off their gear to get new stuff. (It's not used, it's tested. :) )

Scott,

I'm very sorry to hear about your accident. I have a hip pack I can send you if you have a need. Let me know.

Scott ... although our words can never replace what you have lost It's great to hear that your unfortunate accident has not affected your will to continue doing the things in life that you enjoy doing most. I'm looking forward to some wonderful reviews from you.

The generosity of our forum members never ceases to amaze me.

Good luck and best wishes.

Glad to hear this news. Being and remaining positive through a crisis pays out big dividends afterwards.

i will send fatwood and a firesteel good for break time send me a email
if stomper hooks you up with a knife then you won't need a rat5 but i could help with that.

welcome breakthru62. I echo my sympathies for your accident and am also glad to hear that you are forging ahead with a great attitude to change.

I hope to see you here in W&SS often. You've come to a great place where its members really care about one another and thus far, every one of them that I've come face to face and looked in eye and shook their hands, has been a solid A1 person to the core. Come here often, learn and pitch into the great conversion that we keep going. This is a great place and a nice little cove where we all find solace in one another's company.

Wow, this is why I stay here, the Folks are amazing Not a better place on the net.
