Injured Outdoorsman Needs Forum Search Help

Hey Guys,

I'm heading for the in-laws for dinner, so I will write each of you back. I really appreciate your kind gestures, and I want you to know that I'm not looking for any freebies, hand-outs, or the such......so I will most likely decline, well maybe :p . I really don't want anyone to get the wrong idea about me........

I'm an outdoorsman like most of you. Hunting, fishing, camping, and hiking are passions of mine. I have killed a ton of time on this site. It has been very helpfull to me in many, many ways. Anyhow, I have been lurking on here for some time and I must say I'm jealous of your knowledge and the friendships that you guys have.

It's almost impossible not to stay positive about what has happend. By nature, I have always been a happy-go lucky guy and it take alot to get me down. I wake up happy not matter what the situation (sick, tired, poor, broken). I'm still young with a wife and daughter that drive me. I also have the most amazing friends and family that a guy can have, not to mention the great company I work for. They are holding my job and will even modify it in anyway they can to help me, but I don't think it will be necessary. I'm a sheet-metal fabricator and love my job.

Anyhow, I will hop back on here later and get back to you guys.

Thanks for the offers, the links, and the kind words. Great group of guys. I hope I will make new friends on here.

Scott

In the future, it anyone of you has a friend or relative that gets a leg amputation, I would be happy to share my experience so far. I'm not to far into it right now, but will gladly share what I can.

Dude...that sucks...I am sorry to hear it. I don't have the high-end blades some of these cats do, but I can send ya a Cold Steel Roach Belly if ya wanna give it a whirl...PM

And breakthru, just read through the history here. There are a bunch of great guys here and I can say without hesitation that they will help you out with anything, no assumptions made.

Dude,,I think I speak for everyone when I say if we offer things here, they are given freely, without assumption.. you're a fellow outdoorsman going through a tough time you are more than welcome to whatever I can offer... No worries.. Feel better...

Send me your address. I have something you can use and I want you to have.

Breakthru62-

I suffered a similar accident on the fireground- crushed my right leg, and nearly lost it. A positive attitude makes a huge difference, as does pushing yourself as hard as possible through rehab. It looks like you are off to a good start.

Please check your PMs. (Edit- I see you don't have PM, so please send me your email address to reganu a t swva dawt net, adjust the spacing, etc. to make a real address).

Best wishes,
Regan

What he said :D

There are a great bunch of guys in this place. We're always passing stuff around from person to person just for the heck of it. Don't feel awkward taking a free knife, just take it, be happy and post pics

Have fun at the in-laws, I just got back from mine ;)

Scott,

I am in Colorado and have some experience with the legal issues related to auto accidents. I hate to send people to lawyers, but it sounds like you need one. If you do not have one, I may be able to make some suggestions depending on what state you live and the circumstances of the accident. My e-mail is M B Tull AT yahoo. Just close up the spaces, replace the AT with @ and add com after Yahoo. If you give me some details, I may be able to help.

I have been fooling around with a Gerber Gator pocket ax. They are cheap enough and very versatile. You may want to pick one up and see what you think.

Looks like all of our knife brothers have taken care of any steel needs. I just want to say that you possess an inner steel of your own that is refined. Your attitude is inspiring.
God bless you, and your family.

We have an amazing family here. God bless you all!

Breakthru, you're in my prayers. Keep the great positive attitude. God bless you and your family.

You guys are truely great. My email is:

scottcissney@yahoo.com

If you do email me, please let me know your real name and your online name. I want to be able to keep my friends strait!!!

You guys on here remind me of my friends and family. It's like being "home", but online. I really do admire this sight and the friendly folks on it.

I have tried all my life to be like you guys.....caring, giving, selfless, and the need to help others, even strangers. I have been blessed in my life to have been surrounded by these types of people, and I believe we reflect these traits off one another keeping the "good" alive. I feel it here too.

Thanks guys,

Scott

I don't even get to finish a post before someone has something kind to say.

Thank you guys for keeping me in your prayers, I believe they are heard.

breakthru62, your membership has been upgraded to Gold so searching shouldn't be a problem anymore. I'm not sure what you have to do to activate it, but if it isn't clear, PM Esav and he should be able to set you on the right path.

Getting outdoors should be great rehab, and a lot more fun than ambling around a track! Hang in there!
