Inkosi vs. Umnumzaan

4+ years ago I dabbled in knife acquisition. I bought 3 CR knives, then bought a Shirogorov (pj) Neon. For the next 4+ years my Shirogorov became my EDC and CR knives sat in a drawer. Last week I gave my Shirogorov to my son, a senior in college. I started to use my (4+ year old) small Inkosi Insingo with brown Micarta. It popped out of my pocket twice in just few days. Yesterday I sharpened up my Umnumzaan, put it in a slip case and started carrying it, and now I'm much happier. Back when I bought the 'Zaan I removed the pocket clip because it was quite a hot spot for me. I bought the little plate from CR that screws into where the clip went. I'm much happier with this setup. I LOVE how easy it is to flip out the 'Zaan blade, and how quiet and smooth the action is. But/and it is a beefy, heavy knife. I now have a Grismo Rask in the mail to me, which I just "won" in the lottery after being on the list for 4+ years. The Rask and Umnumzaan will have to do a face-off when the Rask arrives for pocket domination.

1. Gave Neon to son
2. Unsuccessfully tried carrying small Inkosi for a few days
3. Won Rask lottery
4. Sharpened and started using Umnumzaan... love it, but a bit bulky

So just like that, a series of unrelated events has gotten me back into the knife hobby scene again.

I prefer the inkosi over the zaan based solely on ergonomics. But I think the zaan is one of if not the best looking knives out there. I plan on getting another one, this time in magnacut.
For years the Zaan was been my favorite knife, since really using the Inkosi a bunch this last 8 months or so the scales have tipped a bit with no real favotite. Ive said a lot the Inkosi is the best knife they make.
