Input for Military 2.

Hi Eastern Blade,

We haven't really begun a design and we've got quite a few designs already in the works. Probably not realistic before '07.

From the Crucible website.
Where does BG-42 fit compared with the other steels on this chart?

Recntly acquired a Para-Mili, and I'd DEFINITELY like to see a compression lock in the Mili-2.
Oh yeah, and drop everything to make it now !!! :D :D :D Sounds like the knife I've been waiting for.

I own 2 of these, one an ATS 34 which is my "back up go to knife" in my car. The other a CPM 440V which is my winter carry blade, and luv them both.

But, I have always disliked the finger choil not being cut out fully on both sides. So whatever lock that can correct that problem is cool with me.

After using a Dodo I have really come to appreciate a clip that does not snag,or scratch on things, so this would also top my list.

Any chance to get something really radical for the handle, like Resiprene C for the handle:D Or something like what Kershaw has done with G-10, for the new Spec Bump?

Dual nested liners would be my last request, for this Spyderco classic.

Dear Mr. Glesser and Spyderco. Thank you for spoiling us with great and improved models. The Military is a knife I love big time and I wouldn't change much in it.
However, I think it would benefit from a compression lock (minimal and nested). Lightweight is one of the things I love at this knife and I'd like it to stay this way.
I don't know what the "Stop-lock" looks like, but if it doesn't allow an open construction, I'd leave it alone.
I'd also forsake the plastic spacer. The first thing I did when I got my Millie was to remove it and leave only those cylindrical ones, which are, IMHO more than enough and make cleaning even easier.
The CF handles are the best, IMHO (at least I preffer my CF Millie over the regular G-10 one), but I realize that G-10 has a word to say too, so I'd say any of them, just keep the steel liners (if you can't do without them) as small as possible.
Speaking of handles, I would make them a bit smaller. The way they are, they seem to have a lot of unused space (if I may say so). I would bring the spacers closer to the edge of the blade (knife closed) and cut down the surpluss. Not too much, I don't want a Police after all ;)

I like the big handle of the Military, as this helps in keeping a good grip when wearing gloves. Some smaller handled knives want to turn in your when doing a twisting type motion to the blade. The large handle plus it's excellent ergonomics make it feel very secure, the grip seems to be distrbuted over the whole handle. Not just at one or two points like some more squarish handled knives.

Recently I did some dynamic cutting tests and the clip did bite into my hand, so hopefully a new type of clip would address that too.

give me some time i might just be able to put one together but then i have to send it to sal for his ok and for me to get a "hole drilling permit" :D
but with any luck i will be able to start making folders just have to get alittle more tooling to help me out

Screw construction. Adjusting the tension on the blade allows for faster opening that often isn't allowed for civilians. The ability to take the whole thing appart for cleaning the moving parts would seem like must in places where corrosion is likely or where there is a lot of grit. I think screw construction is a must for any knife that will be loved.
