Introduce yourself on the Becker Forum

I have already introduced myself in another thread. But I really like introductions, so I’ll do it again :D
Hi. I’m Kakefat. While it may not be obvious to you Americans, Kakefat is not my real name. Just thought I should mention that. I don’t think any of you would be able to pronounce my real name.

I am 21 years old, live in Norway and try to enjoy life to its full potential. I love women, nature, gaming, knives and photography, and I like to combine some of those interests whenever I get the chance. That being said, I rarely combine women and knives. That could get a little messy :p

Also, I have a deep hatred towards helmets. While I have never really liked them, this was something I really only realized when I joined the army. Kevlar helmets are horrible. They restrict your abilities in so many ways that I just found it better to leave it in the vehicle. My superiors did not like that.

I actually don’t have any pictures of me holding any knives, but here is a picture of a couple of knives and a picture of me.

I have posted both pictures before, but I like them.

I’ll give it a go.
My name is David, was born and raised in Phoenix AZ and have lived in a few of the suburbs around Phoenix.
I was raised a city boy, but always loved hunting and fishing with my Grandfather and Uncles.
Around 12 years old I was introduced to the Royal Ranger Ministries and started my bushcrafting career.
I’ve been active in RR for over 25 years and still enjoy passing on knowledge and skills to this day.
My wife and daughters share my love of the outdoors and will go hiking, fishing, or hunting with me whenever we have the chance.
I started the Becker addiction a couple years ago with a BK2 and have added a BK14 and BK7 as funds allow.

I get some questions on the name FCFER.
I’ve been a member of the Frontiersmen Camping Fellowship since 1990, so starting using the acronym accordingly.

Here's a picture of me and the boys abusing a stump I found in the desert.

Hello, I'm Bill D. (Call me an aspiring Becker owner and aspiring Beckerhead.)

I'm a structural engineer which means I'm pretty much out of work because there is no engineering being done these days in this economy. I like camping/hiking/backpacking, bicycling, KNIVES, working on computers, working on cars, photography.

This is an older photo of me at the top of Angel's Landing in Zion National Park, Utah. (You can tell it's a little older photo because I'm carrying a FILM camera.)

(and I have NO bikini photos)

And of course, I have Beckers! I don't have ENOUGH Beckers, but that's just finances. I enjoy what I've got so far and just have to get more.

Hello there everyone, my name is Ryan. Live in Maryland and just picked up my first Becker (bk2) and I'm really liking it. A nice fella on my local shooting forum pointed me this way and I look forward to learning a lot from this forum.

Cheers. :)

Hi there,
Not a beckerhead yet or anything but a fan from far far away. Born and raised in India and recently acquired my first Becker. BK14 it is and it is beautiful. I don't see myself needing another knife for EDC and daily cutting stuff. I am stripping it and re-profiling it and have made a leather sheath for it cos the plastic one sux. Pity that such a great blade has a useless sheath. But I guess cost is an important factor as well. Bought it with the zytel scales and it is definitely all the knife I need. Not all I want though :D

How is the sheath useless? It holds the knife it has places for 550 cord so you can lash it to things and with the TDI clip it makes all kinds of options easy. Its a decent sheath and far from useless. I still use mine daily.

Hello every one my name is Robert Carter I grew up and still live in southeast Texas where I was introduced to knife making by my father Joe Pardue and my grandfather Melvin Pardue around the age of 7. I started by helping joe and Melvin in their shops cutting out And profiling blades and liners until I was a teenager then I was to busy chasing the young ladies around the house for knife making. I found a great woman that I married and settled down with. I have a great job working off shore since I was 18 and I'm now a first captian of a 100 ton mini supply vessel. Now that I'm all settled down I start making knives in May 2011. I started out making small fixed blades and kneck knives until August 2011 I went and stayed a weekend with Melvin and he taught me how to make folders and I have been making steady progress since then. I make a very limited number of folders due to my work schedule but I am absolutely addicted to and love making knives. I just hope to be great at it one day.

Ok maybe useless was a strong word. But I am still hurting from the fact that it dulls the knife in a couple of pulls. I can actually see lil reflections off the edge. I really don't know how to fix it. I tried filing off the little bit inside but I am afraid to mess it up. So, I made a leather sheath. Also the plastic sheath is so big. I see tiny lil kydex sheaths that can do all that U say and not dull the blade. The cost of ordering one and having it shipped to me is prohibitive as shipping and customs easily push the cost to over double what ends up with the seller.

Still I "mea culpa" that "useless" was too strong a word :)

That's the sheath I put together. Don't laugh!

Oh ok go ahead and crack the hell up!

Thats part of the fun with these knives, you can mod them and do things yourself or a ton of folks offer things for them. Not a bad sheath for your first one.
