Introduce yourself on the Becker Forum

I don't have a Becker just yet, but I'm in the market for one. ;) Looking mainly at the BK2, BK12/RSK MK2, BK16, and BK14. Not sure which I'll get first, but I'll have one within the next two to three weeks. Honestly, I'd like to swing at least two from that group, a BK14 and one other. I'll try my hand at making scales for both, and will probably leave one with the factory finish, and use the other for a few learning projects (stripping the finish and applying a patina/aged look, leaning about convex edges, adding a little jimping, etc). We'll see what I decide and what I can find good deals on. :)

As for a little about me? Born in AZ, moved to Texas for my formative years (5-15) where I spent a great deal of time as a Boy Scout, then back to AZ. The Scouting program helped foster a great appreciation for knives, and I've found them to be invaluable tools ever since. Sadly, my schedule doesn't allow me much time to go exploring AZ right now, but I'll get out and about more once my program is finished. Other than that, I do enjoy time outside and use a few different EDC knives on a daily basis, etc. Been hunting a few times, but always late in the season so the game was spooked. I'll going to put in for Javelina again this year, I think, and will try to hit up quail season within the first month of the season as well, time permitting. So a good field knife is what I'm looking for with the Beckers. I also scuba dive occasionally and don't yet have a good dive knife, so that's on the list, too! Basically, if it involves a little bit of risk, and I get a good thrill out of it, I'm game.

My name is Cal, I'm 26 and Currently live in Ontario Canada, My family moved here from Utrecht, Netherlands when I was really young. I own a bk7 and bk14 and eyeing up the 15 as my next becker. In my free time I like fishing, hiking, canoeing/camping, and just exploring all the beautiful nature up here in Canada. I work as a Marine mechanic (boats of all sizes) and just love being out doors either in the woods or on the lake in my boat. These are the only pictures I have on this computer right now. From Heidelberg Germany.

In the second picture you can see some Arches on the hill in the background, that's where the first picture was taken.

My name is Derek, and I haven't been here too terrible long but I figured I would say hello to everyone. I like knives, obviously, and I really enjoy being outdoors here in the area I live in (Southern WV). Anyways, here is a pic of me (sorry, don't have many of me wielding a knife that I can find too terribly quick) and the missus:

Here is a bikini pic of the missus from a couple of years back:

Here is one of my knives (my current fave, the BK16 FFG):

Other than that not much to tell. I am the Systems Administrator for a smallish non-profit here in Southern WV, and also an Assistant Scoutmaster for one of our local Boy Scout Troops. I am pretty boring to be honest. :/

Down on one of our many trips to Hilton Head!

I would say I need no introduction, but that is kind of against the point of this thread. So I'll go ahead and make my introductions.

I'm Chameleonbear, real name is Jared, I get called Jarebear a lot.
This is currently me

I work as a sign language interpreter in the greater St. Louis area. By greater I mean FAR greater, I have a 100 mile radius that I now cover which includes St. Louis, Springfield Il, Mt. Vernon Il, Effingham Il, down to Cape Girardeau and out to mid-Missouri.

I don't have a "Bladite-esque" size collection of knives however I've increased my collection quality instead.

Currently my favorites are my tweeners:

But, I ordered a BK17 today. So I will be using that knife for the next 6 months or so.

I like to do a lot of improvising. This is a pic of me in my last project.

I know a few folks over here. Looks like a good group.

Nice to finally meet you all.

Name's Tom.
I'm an aspiring Beckerhead, a knife knut, flashaholic, car guy, long gun aficionado, audiophile, mtn biker, father, husband, and mechanical engineer.
I love the great outdoors, but since I live in the bay area with a city girl and a couple little ones, I don't make it out much.
If I'm lucky I'll camp twice a year, and ski about as often.
My respite is goofing around in the garage.

I only have 1 Becker (FPR 16), but I've had a lot of fun modding it:

I have a few other things, too:

ok...The name is Eric and I live in Utah. My job allows me to live pretty much anywhere I want and I live here because of the camping, hiking and snowboarding opportunities. I like to be outdoors and teaching my kids about a love for the outdoors.

I currently own only two Beckers a BK2 and BK14 (although a BK9 is sure to be had soon):

Hi I'm andrew, have had the nick name yoko forever, I paint cars at a dealership, have a couple cars of my own I hope to get done sooner than later (1996 impala ss with a turbo and nitrous and tons of other stuff, and a 1971 monte carlo)

but most important I try to spend as much time with my 7 year old son as I can

Guess I'm kind of hands on and try to learn and do as many different things as I can

Thats a quick description of me, hello

Figured since I seem to be hanging out in this forum more and more I would put up the introduction..
Hi, name is Lee I live in South Texas, been here since I was 1 year old. Grew up hunting, fishing, camping and hiking. Spent summers on my family ranch in the Texas hill country. Been a forum member since 2005, but have not been too active for the last few years. New dad to a wonderful 20 month old. Married for 10 years now to my best friend. Work on positioning electronics... Enjoy mechanic-ing, reading, PC video games, and all kinds of music.
Bought a BK9 based on post in this forum and absolutely love it.. It replaced my CS Trail Master as my "big" knife... My wife and I have been spending every spare moment for the last 6 months remodeling and fixing up our house, as soon as I can get it sold I plan on adding a few friends for the 9.

Hi, I am Charlz9mm. Thank you for everyone's inspiration to mod this BK11. I mostly lurk. Thanks

Etching was done with an acid pen.

Oh I forgot. I own many knives but only two Ka-Bar Beckers. BK2 and said BK11. I run a blog and a popular YouTube channel. I am a quality manager and a writer.
