Introducing the "CKCA" (Custom Knife Collector’s Association)

I never got any badge! Are you prejudiced against forgers now?

We did as many as we could at the show, Karl....Kevin is purchasing the label machine, and will have the badges early next week. Tanya handed me her application personally when I was making badges on Sunday, so I got Begg Knives done, but the laminate machine was already packed up.

Don't worry, everyone will get their stuff....some sooner than others....balisong collectors are at the front of the line, so are flint knappers.....:D:eek::D

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

Sorry, couldn´t help it! LMAO

Now seriously... My opinion is that the subject is already put in a way people may choose to understand it in one way or the other way. The bottom line is the judgment of our good will and commitment to the general goal to make this a all kinds of knives club. So people can believe us or not. In time our actions may make this decision easy for them. Let that happen.

Step up to the Charter level and they come immediately... ;)

Hey! That's my latest acquisition. Why in the world isn't it forged..?! Or even Custom? Danged if it matters to me.

Membership packages will being going out within the next few weeks. Folks at the show got their badges early as they were being made there.

We are waiting for a few other goodies so we can ship it all out at one time.

Thanks for your patience.

It's not a big deal, because "I don't need no stinking badge", but I'm Charter Level and I don't have one.

Michael, you're twisted bud...lol :D

Knife content: All Randall knives are made by hand, and are thus 'hand made' - although some are forged and some are stock removal, some are Bowies and some are not...none of us Randall collectors seems to give a rip if another collector is talking about which method was used to finish the blade, as long as we're talking about something we all enjoy; the knives... :D

Rl- Robert, you know I do my reports based upon what I like and the photos I take are based on that. I really have no idea as to how many photos were done that are SR compared to forged. As you know I can do displays that are Canadian, Art Knife, Forged etc as you have seen almost all knives I own. I am NOT a tactical knife collector and thus did not photograph and spend time doing anything related to tacticals. I had a room mate who you also know or you could have come with me and photographed the tactical section and posted into CKCA and thus all aspects of knife collecting might have been closer to being represented.

Others seem to have posted to BF re Blade (I am still on the road and posting from a flying j travel stop tonight) and so have not read everything but I can't apologize for my coverage of BF and anyone that had no interest in the knives, that is ok but I hope that others that do like the knives that are heavily represented in the CUSTOM knife realm and shown in the 169 photos presented in the thread re the 2008 show will encourage others reading any forum to poke around the CKCA site and forum and see what the organization is all about.

Heck, STeven and I have gone around the block re the logo but it was chosen and he put a lot of effort into creating it and while it is not my personal choice, as Kevin says, nothing is set in stone -- not even a knife. I 'll be going to Guild this year and to AG's sow and Chicago so lots of different knives and folks will be covered in photos and info. Will I miss some individuals? Yup and it is likely some may get over covered -- that happens sometimes when one is visiting with friends.

All that have not joined, check things out and then see if you can help or just want to enjoy more about knives. I never get tired of anything knife related.

Heck to day as we traveled I saw a sign, KNIVES -- hammered the brakes only to find out the chap who usually had knives had not shown up for some time. Oh, well, maybe tomorrow!!

well you never invited me ;)

murray, i appreciate your efforts...i am glad you posted 169 pics...i really think that is great and i enjoyed them...your review is NOT the reason i am not signing up.

Welcome Mark. You will be receiving your welcome e-mail/member information very soon.

The last week was good for the CKCA as you join Steve Johnson, Wolfgang Loerchner, Andre Fontana and Craig Camerer as new members.
