Introducing the Zero Tolerance 0801

Just when I thought ZT didn't have anything for me this year... I am really looking forward to this one! :D

I think relatively speaking this year I don't have budget for everything that will hopefully be available from ZT, we have the 560CBCF (schwaet), the 566, the 600, the 777, the 801, the 888. Me thinks this is the ZT year of reckoning :).
 
Nice. Thoughts on what the lowest or average price might be? Just a thought. No deal spotting here. I know it can vary $20-30 at times. Unless I missed this part. Sorry.

The MSRP is $10 less than the 0550, so street price will probably be about the same or a little less.
 
I am extremely excited for this knife. IMHO, your getting more than you get with a 0550 and it is going to be either the same price or cheaper!
 
Yep. Sounds like the left hand isn't talking to the right hand. Just to be on the safe side, I went ahead and put in a pre-order. I don't know if that will lock in the price should ZT suddenly wake up and realize that they're underselling it by $100, but it's worth a shot!
 
The MSRP of the 0801 has not changed - it is $240 and MAP price is 20% off of MSRP.

No worries here, Jim. All the typo did was push me into placing a pre-order sooner than I otherwise would have. :)
 
See now! Nice. That was a gentleman act of both Jim and Chester. Saved us all a headache. And because of it I placed a preorder. So did this guy with the sexy pic. ^^

-I'm giving Kershaw another try. The. 0560 for me was great. Just too big and manly for my precious mitts. This and Rexford(who I've wanted a custom from) filled the void. Good marriage. I hope! Unlike my ex. ;)
 
Oh my goodness.... This is gorgeous....

I admit that I haven't read through the entire thread yet... but do we have any kind of tentative release date?

Good things come to those who wait. I think KAI works real hard to get good quality to their customers, and I imagine with new designs that takes even longer to get everything perfect. Look at how many blems there are where I have about 25 or so and to me they are more than fine, most I can barely see the issue or I can't at all, and it is usually a cosmetic issue when I can, like the etching is a little off or a tiny imperfection exists with the DLC. I think they must have QA on what they will sell for blems :D. Anyway, to get them perfect and get production rolling and enough of a first batch to distribute at their quality level sounds like a lot of time and work. Add that to how many are coming out this year from ZT alone that are original(566, 600, 777, 888, 801, and Kershaws and Shuns too)... and 2013 sounds fast to me!

And the 801 for $240 MSRP, $200 street? Forgeddaboutit! KAI could have charged more and still sold a ton of them, (so sweet!) but they didn't cos they rock :).

That said, I empathize, I wanna fast forward about a year, like that dude Hiro in Heroes, so many blades to be excited about :D.
