Iron Dirk by Bruce Bump

Great knife from Bruce and congrats to Mike!

(BTW Bruce...I see those bushings :D)

Hate to sound like a broken record with everyone but, well, great work Bruce that is a real beauty.

Eric

Oh, man...! That feather damascus is simply amazing. Thank you for showing it to us, and congratulations on your knife... that's really one of the most beautiful pieces I've seen.

That is incredible. Just when you think you've seen it all, someone posts something like this. Just in case it hasn't been said enough, WOW!

I see this knife as a merging of Traditional with Art knife.
This might be #1 of an emerging sub class called "Trad-Art" knives.
It's a perfect balance for Bruce's gifts as artist and technical wizard.
Bruce, i'd like the next one please. :D:thumbup:

Thanks everyone.

Found this WIP thread on how Bruce makes feather damascus.

That is possibly one of the best reads on a knife forum I've enjoyed immensely!

Ironically my facebook recommended Bruce as a friend yesterday after reading this thread and I've never had any contact with Bruce...facebook must be telling me something, evil evil site that is! :D

Fantastic looking work. (that is standard from Bruce though).

Congrats to both of you.

I have more ques. ? ...
Mike, that's your knife ? Wow ,I only thought you were just posting the pics! Congrat's to you then,It's truly spectacular!

Bruce,the springs,same Damascus steel,but not etched ??
And the liners, and bolsters, what are they made of ?

TIA and Congrat's again,to both of you,
-Vince :)

Bruce, I thought I'd "bump" Vince's questions up, and add another. Are the handles Mammoth or Elephant? And are they stabilized or au naturelle??

Got the jack this afternoon. The short version: It's got a lot of real cool bells and whistles, but it really "feels" like a big ol workingman's jack knife. Best of both worlds, I reckon.

Thanks Bruce!

I tried to take some scans of it, but so far I haven't been able to come up with anything better than Bruce's pics.

Off to do the spine whack test on the main blade...

"Off to do the spine whack test on the main blade... "
Wow, i didn;t know it has a linerlock too !! Bruce sure did put all the wells and bhistles on.

Wait, we don't do the spine whack test on traditional pocketknives? That's some knowledge you could have dropped on me sooner, Roland.
