There have been some problems with the Bladeforums Wilderness and Survival knives that were made by Ironwolf and this thread is so that all involved can share their experiences in this and any other regard concerning this maker. I have still not received my knives months after they were completed. Ironwolf has been slow to respond to my e-mails, but did contact me to say that 2 of my knives were returned to him as the box they were in was mangled badly. He also mentioned that the 2 blanks that he had for me were nowhere to be found. This was the last I have heard from him (Jan. 15). He stated that he would get my knives out ASAP and make me the 2 blanks that I bought ASAP as well. A month later and I have heard nothing, it is getting frustrating as I have received other shipments from the USA since then so I do not believe that the mail is to blame.

I understand that Ken works away from home but that is no excuse for not getting anything in this length of time. I try not to judge too harshly and all I want are my knives! I hate to bring this maker to this part of the Forum but it is time.:(

Please give your experiences here as to if you received your knives, if you needed them refurbished as I understand many were not happy with the fit and finish, and if you got them back in a good amount of time; along with anything else you have to add!!

I hope that Ken can make things right for everybody!!

My blades were not as agreed on (ie not scandi grind) I returned them and he said he would make replacements with the correct grind.

I haven't heard from him since. Emailed him recently to say if he did not feel like he could complete my blades to please refund my paypal acct but no reply or email yet.

I did get my knife after I filled a complaint with paypal. He responded very quickly, and my knife was in my hands a week later.
I hope we can get this worked out ASAP. I have Kens email addresses, and ph # for those that do not have them.
Emailing Ken with this link.

Have any of you guys tried calling Ken? For those of you that can, did you file a complaint with paypal, or your CC company?

Just curious.

I got my knife about a month after he started sending them out, I was not satisfied and asked him for a refund (emails), I sent it back and he refunded my account. I hope you guys are compensated as well...

I've e-mailed him to get my original deposit back...not a word, despite multiple e-mails.

This lack of communication is disheartening as when I talked to Ken he seemed like a really nice guy and this hurts his credibility! I hope everything does work out in the end and Ken gets a chance to return his name.

Guys, I hate to sound cynical, but this says it all. He's sitting on them for some reason. The fact that when he was kicked hard enough by Paypal to finally come through speaks volumes here. He is not honoring his commitment unless forced to do so. Everyone should complain via paypal or their cc company. I hope Ken is okay, but he needs to come clean and rectify this if he doesn't want to be hit with mail fraud charges. The time for excuses is past.

Ken, if you can't honor your commitment and deliver as promised, or you can't afford to refund at this point, then you need to say so and take your lumps like a man. No more hiding.

I returned mine and asked for a replacement. Finally recently asked him for a refund both by email and letter, giving him my paypal info. Nothing yet but your experience gives me hope he will come thru.

man.. what a bummer...:thumbdn::mad: i'm glad i went with the bad a$$ NWA knife.... i would be soooo heated up if i had to deal with this...:grumpy:

I think being a great knifemaker doesn't necessarily mean being a great businessperson or financial manager. It sounds as if Ironwolf's debts got larger than his ability to finance the making of his knives. It is probably very embarrassing to him. But, more than ever, that's why he needs to come forth.

I don't know about you guys, but I can forgive a guy for screwing up and making mistakes. If he communicates his shortcomings, and doesn't avoid me, I would support him. We are all nothing more than fallible human beings. I've screwed up and I've been wickedly embarrassed by it. But I came clean when I fell short, no matter the embarrassment. The embarrassment of NOT coming clean is worse.

So, Ken, we all WANT to believe in you. We ALL have dropped the ball in some small or large way in our lives. Integrity doesn't mean being perfect. Integrity is being strong enough to admit and communicate our weaknesses and our mistakes.

What do you guys say?

Very well said Brian........

Lord knows I've been there more than once.

Communication will go a long way with most people.

Still nothing. I know he sells at lot of festivals so maybe I'll research which ones, find their websites and link to this thread:thumbup:

Funny thing is he had a pic of all of the knives in one pile. I'll try to post it direct from my computer (I have never tried this)- I know that there were problems with the grind on some, but they were all there at one point!!
