Ironwolf concerns

Was the problem only with the Scandi versions? I ordered a flat grind and received it and was happy with it. Are there others who ordered the flat grind and didn't get it?

Hi Y'all,

Just wanted to post this update.

I called Ken Nelson today (3/18/2008) at 715-323-0538 @ 1:45PST and finally reached him.

He said he has been busy and has been traveling to which I informed him that I spend quite a bit of time traveling internationally (~1/2) but still manage to meet my obligations, especially contractual ones in which money has been solicited and received...

He said that he has been working on my returned blade (for 4 months?) and that he has been emailing me the progress -which I informed him clearly that I have never received any updates or replies to my emails from him after his email acknowledging receipt of my returned blade on 11/19/2007.

I asked Ken if he had any further welding jobs lined-up and he said that he only had a 2-day job coming up next Monday.

Anyways, Ken Nelson said that he will try to finish my knife by this week, and if he couldn't do this, he will refund my money + shipping back into my PayPal account. At this time, I asked him to give me his personal "Word" that he will keep this promise, Ken did.

We'll see what happens. I told him that I was going to post this in Blade Forums, and I'll keep everyone updated as to what happens next.

I got this email from him after contacting his wife:

Greetings, Christel told me how you have been trying to reach me, Unfortunately, I have been on the road for quite some time. I only got home around 7 tonight.

I had dropped off your blades at the office of the company I had contracted out to when I left for this last trip. they had paid lables on them, so they should have gone out with the deliveries then. I can look into that on Monday when the office is open again.

However, as they gave me the runaround as to when I was going to be able to get home, I will not trust them not to do the same. I still have three or four of the scandi profiles in my shop. I will see if I cannot get two of them started as well. This way if I can find the others all well and good, if not I can send the two new ones to you.

I may be leaving again on Wed, so I am going to spend as much time as possible in my shop before then.

If you would prefer, I can also refund you through Paypal, as it would be the quickest.

I will try to check my e-mail each day I am here, but you can also reach me on my cell phone which is (715)323-0538 if you haven't gotten it from my website yet.

Just got a message from Ken stating that he wanted to fix a sheath and would get it out on Monday. I really want the knives as if I pay for something I feel that the money is out and I want the product more than the cash back. I'll update my situation as I get more info and when the knives come.
 
Update- I got 2 of my 4 knives today. Did not get my blanks yet and he shipped UPS rather than USPS. Sent out another e-mail, will update as I get more info.
Both knives have the BF WSS 07 stamp wiped nearly off as well.
 
I have to agree with you there Keith, plus the fit and finish, as well as sharpness is under what I would have expected as well.
Live and learn I guess- but I will not paint all custom makers the same (someday I hope to be one), but so far 2 of 3 custom purchases have been very disappointing.
 
Update......

This scumbag has not responded to repeated messages from me. I had been in contact with his wife before with good results, but even when contacting them both by e-mail I get no response. As of now I am certain that I have been screwed out of $140, not a small sum, even though it is not as big as some here recently.

I am extremely disappointed in this whole ordeal, and am ready to give up and accept that I am screwed out of my money.
