Would you pay 120 $ for this made of aus8? I love the shape, stle, and everything about This Boker Plus Elegance Vox Bob, but cant get past the fact that its aus8. I know some say its good steel but never had a knife in it and never thought of it as good steel. What do you think?

If you like those lines maybe look at the bark river sts-3 in 154cm. Dlt trading has em for around 130 after using the coupon code.

YES.
I think it's an over priced knife, tho it's 6mm think blade :))
with $120 you can get a better knife.
$120 for an Aus8 blade is unbelievable to me...just me
after all it's up to your preference, if you love that tough, grippy micarta handle, that fat thick blade and the polish finish on it, then go for it ;)
BTW, this knife remind me of a kitchen knife...a lot of Boker blades look like kitchen knife. Or they are?

$120 for a Chinese-made knife seems way too high. You could find a very nice custom from a number of makers on here for that kind of cash.

Whether this knive is worth $120 is a personal question, unique to you. If you have reservations about buying it then it is probably not worth it to you. If you had rather have the knife than the $120 you have now, then it is worth it to you. No one else's opinion really matters. The fact that someone else might not pay $120 for it is totally irrelevant to whether you are willing to pay $120 for it. The only reason you should worry about my opinion or anyone else's is if you entertain thoughts of reselling it. Only then does someone else's opinion of worth come into play. The same is true about any other knife, such as Sebenza, Busses, Striders, etc. They are all worth the asking price to some people and not worth it to others.

I like AUS 8, Cold Steel uses it, and it works pretty good, I like the looks of that blade, and 6mm wow thats thick, the design is nice, and I think that is where some of that money is going, it may be a bit over priced, but if you like it, I think it's not a bad buy

If it were me I would look on the makers subforum. I'm pretty sure you can find a custom that's better made and for the same price.

While I do find AUS-8 to be a nice steel, it isn't worth $120, the most i've paid for an AUS-8 knife was $50, and that's reasonable. The Boker does look nice though.

i would buy it if they used something like 12c27 but for 120 dollars? i think that is way to much for a knife made in china using aus-8.

like the others said, its a really cool looking knife and it looks like it would hold up to some use.

like xanra said, aus-8 is not a bad steel at all, i have about 4 blades in aus-8 and cant complain about edge retention, but those are 30-60 dollar knives.

i think if they put that kind of steel on it, it should be way cheaper.

I like AUS-8 but not for that much. And I sure wouldn't spend that much on a knife made in China. Just my opinion. And yes, I agree, have someone make you a good custom fixed blade. I've got one being made now for about $30 more that I can't wait to get my hands on! (ML Knives Kephart)

I would imagine it's a pretty good knife but the price is a little funky. If it were half the price then maybe.

i would buy it if they used something like 12c27 but for 120 dollars? i think that is way to much for a knife made in china using aus-8.

This comment makes no sense to me. AUS8 is a "better" steel than 12c27, when you look at their respective compositions. I'm not knocking 12c27, it's a good steel and one of my favorites, but in no way would the knife be worth $120 if it was 12c27 instead of AUS8.

If you like it, buy it. Don't worry about what others think. It's your knife. It will do anything you need that style of knife to do.

It's funny how steels go in and out of vogue through the years. I remember a time when, next to ATS34, AUS8 was the 2nd "best" steel on the market and many of the factories premium quality knives were made of it.

My personal thoughts when buying a knife is if I'm looking to spend more than $100, I check out the maker's on here first.

I concur, the design is appealing but overpriced. Is $120 the dealer price or the MSRP. I like AUS8 but will not spend more than $60 on it.
