I never really complain about much, you guys don't give me much reason too, all the service I get in the US is first class, but I have posted to this website before about their 10% cheaper promise and never get a reply, what is the story, I found a Puma White Hunter $10 cheaper elsewhere and sent them a message wondering if they could beat it, but no reply, is this the norm.. and should I think about going elsewhere to spend my $$$.

Thanks Guys,

What d'ya hunt with a knife?
Name it!

Brian at DK is a pretty good guy. Problem is I think he gets a lot of buissness so he's a very buisy guy. He usually comes through fine. He should match the price, I've never had a problem as long as you are meeting all of the requirements.

I hope I get my KFF and PG from Brian soon.

No way! Brian@DiscountKnives is one of the best. He just gets a lot of e-mail and he probably loses some of it. He should reply soon. Just order and read the requirements carefully. Put the 10% pricing policy in an extra line and the URL and he'll know. Just do that when you order and change the prices on the form to accomodate.

It's a gimmick. That's why there is NO reply. Just buy the PUMA at the cheaper source already. So what's the problem.....

Is Ireland good for sight seeing tourists?

It is not a gimmick, do as Comrade Chang states above. Just make the appropriate changes on the order form and add any extra info in the comments box. Brian will beat the lowest price.

Here is discountknives policy:

DISCOUNT KNIVES PRICING POLICY
To Bring You the Lowest Prices On The Internet

Some Dealers Offer To Match Prices
WE'LL BEAT OTHER'S PRICES BY
10%
This Does Not Include Sale/Special Items, Closeout Items Or Discontinued Items.

To determine your cost from Discount Knives:

Other's Price + Other's Shipping Charge - 10% = Delivered Price (including shipping) From Discount Knives

AN EXAMPLE:
JVK offers a knife at $100.00 with shipping charges of $10.00, for a total of $110.00. Deduct 10% ($11.00) from this price.

You pay $99.00 from Discount Knives including shipping.

YOU SAVED $11.00
_____________________________________________

If the total is $99.00 + discountknives shipping cost=(Shipping & Handling $3.50 for Knives (up to 2 pounds)), then the total is $102.50.

Your savings is $7.50, not $11.00

I think some may have misread the sentence:

Other's Price + Other's Shipping Charge - 10% = Delivered Price (including shipping) From Discount Knives

Delivered price quoted above _includes_ shipping! So you still save 10%

I have ordered several knives from Brian, always found him to respond in good time, and to provide excellent service.

Seems like a clear pricing policy to me. Brian is not charging shipping on top of the savings calculation. The savings is as stated. Simple math.

But, it's your choice to go where you want. If you don't want to deal with him then don't. But don't trash the man if you haven't given him an honest chance.

I have always had fast reliable service from Brian and I don't think saving money is ever a Gimmick. However, if this thread continues in this fashion it will probably get moved to GBU.
Thanks
Eric

I have done business with Brian in the past and have found him to be fast and reliable.

I think this thread really SHOULD be moved to "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly". Anyone care to second me on this one?

Well I agree it should be in tgtb&tu but since it's here I'll respond. I have ordered from Brian about 6 times, the service was poor but the price was right. I'll never order from Bryan again however. My last purchase was from Murray at www.proedgeknives.com and both the service and the price were absolutley unbeatable. Murray delivered a far better level of service than I'd expect from anyone: Prompt return of email, returned phone calls (not the mystery always busy phone) questions answered by someone who truly knows knives and superfast shipping.
I'll turn to Proedge for all my future knife and tactical gear needs. No doubt about it.
Be safe,
Chad

You guys are being too harsh on Brian. And some of you have misread his policy.

You see in the policy, "JV Knife" charges $100 + $10 Shipping/Handling. Brian will cut the price of JV Knife (total of $110) down by 10%. The end price from Brian is $99 INCLUDING SHIPPING. The price saving between $110 and $99 is $11. 110 - 99 = 11. It isn't very difficult if you try and do the math. Give the guy a chance. I've ordered 4 times at least from DiscountKnives.com. Would I order again? Yes, I would. Some of you say his service is bad, but you need to understand that his volume of sales is rather large and he can't be as fast as some other stores. His 10% pricing policy is NOT a gimmick. I've used it before and I've gotten good savings on my Benchmade 910. I paid less than $80 for it, including shipping, as a result of it.

Brian is a very honest man and quite trusting as well. Once I ordered from him, and he accidentally left out something (first time he made a mistake with my order, and it was a minor one). Instead of placing 2 of an item, he misread it as 1 and missed an item. I e-mailed him, and he didn't ask to verify it or anything. He trusted my word. I asked him for store credit, though he certainly would have shipped the item extra at his own expense for shipping if I had requested.

Harikari, it is interesting how you have a low post count and don't list your e-mail address.

If you've had any bad experiences with DiscountKnives.com, please list them. Otherwise nobody will take you seriously.

Well said Comrade Chang. I've ordered from him several times. Prompt service. Fast delivery. Had one time a pair of knives I got had blade play (not his fault, like that in the box). He replaced them without a problem.

Like I've said before. I've had good service with him every time. But, there is always the chance that OMMV (other's mileage may vary).

I've often wondered about the 10% thing myself. I usually just ignore it, as it seemed like a pain to pursue. I personally just *comparison shop* from site to site. If there was an easy way to accomplish this "price guarantee", it would reduce surfing quite a bit. So far no problems with these folks. They have been pretty damn helpful.
