Is it just me, or is Kershaw handling the Natrix line all wrong?

Agreed 100%.

I will say that if Kershaw put D2 or even VG10 into some of these knives, I WOULD BUY THEM!!!!! I would have no issue with a $40-$60 Kershaw with one of those steels, because it's not like the designs are poor! Some of them are actually pretty neat, but when the most important part of a knife (the blade) is the area wherein they cheaped out, just makes it not a worthy purchase.
Copper Natrix is D2. ;)

Really? I did not know that. I actually dismissed it at first because it's too small (and then assumed* that the blade was typical Kershaw 8cr). I can't believe they actually made one in D2. Guess I'm going to have to buy one anyway, hopefully to send the message that it's ok to put D2 in other knives, maybe a larger sized one.

*I'll own it, shut up. :D

Based on the photo that Massdrop has posted they've definitely just been incompetent again--that photo matches my copper Natrix exactly, so it's not some special edition larger copper model.

They do seem to screw things up pretty regularly, so I guess this shouldn't be a huge surprise to anyone. On the bright side, I quite like the itty bitty version, hopefully folks will be pleasantly surprised with their tiny knives when they arrive.

Yeah for me blade steel is job 1 and the rest will follow.

The question is though does KAI want folks like that buying Kershaw or buying ZT? Toyota doesn't want their Lexus customers buying a Toyota.

yeah, it's sad but true, massdrop is just plain WRONG with details and facts more than half the time. It's really quite a fiasco, I mean, I could flip a coin and be be right half the time. This means that massdrop is just plain incompetent or deliberately providing false info... I just honestly can't understand how any 'big' website can be so messed up.

On top of that, most of their pricing is about 99 cents less than bladehq, knifecenter etc
I'd rather pay the extra to get it shipped the same day, instead of the massdrop delay of 1-6 months...

Actually, their pricing on production knives has often been as much as 10-20% higher than other online vendors.

The most scammy part of it to me is that the site was originally marketed as "get a lower price by buying as a large group" sort of site, and though they've done away with that messaging I wonder if there aren't a bunch of rubes getting scammed buying items at a price premium above other online prices because they were too lazy to search and just assumed the massdrop "big group buy" leverage was getting them a good price.

depends on the item. got a couple of maserin 680 police knives for about 25 bucks less each, than the cheapest online dealers. so it is hit and miss but worth a look depending on the item.
