Is Snody Crazy

You know I take that back. Snody's idiotic attitude shouldn't stop me from buying his knives. I will admit he makes some nice looking blades.

Uhmm since I can't wade through the baloney in this thread or make sense of it. My son is buying me a knife for Christmas.

Does this Snody fellow have a website or someplace I can buy one of the cool knives in the pictures?

I would like a lower ended but wicked looking folder - of course I wish I was a millionaire too.

We'd like to order one later today and can wait for it's arrival.

Anyone please?

Thanks much!

Chuck

I'd love to order one of his less expensive folding knive this afternoon. Anyone Please!! ;)

If you cannot see through his methods of madness then stay annoyed and stay away from Snody customs when they hit the secondary market. It is bad enough now that his customs sell in less than 10 minutes on the knife forums with those that don't like his marketing style, please do not lower the time to 9 minutes!!

His "gansta personna" is not only funny as hell, it's making him one of the most sought after makers and a regular at all the Investment brokers and banks in Texas!!

Maybe next year Mr. Snody will become a rapping Rabbi, who cares. As long as he makes more folders and I get a chance to scoop one I don't care if he raps the magna Carta in pig latin..................

you might try looking at his forum here on BF. Here is a link:

I am sure that I posess skills that Mr. Snody does not.

I was stating that when you sell a controversial image, just like Marilyn Manson, Eminem or Prince, you run the risk of people reacting negatively. Is Mike Snody a d-bag? I don't know. I haven't met the man. It sure looks like he is in those videos.

Wow. This thread sure does deliver.

So let me get this straight. You haven't met the man, and presumably don't own any of his knives, and yet you feel free to call a master knife maker with 50+ collaborations and literally thousands of customs in the hands of his loyal fan base spread out all over the world a douchebag. Most people would call such a maker a living legend. You, sir, are off point.

I can assure you that you would never, and I mean NEVER, tell Snody something like this to his face. You are one of these guys.

Finally, not to nitpick, if you are going to call out another maker on his skills, you might want to spell "possess" correctly. By talking shit and spelling at a third grade level, you make yourself look like an idiot. Just FYI.

Wow!

I sure have pissed some people off! I would like to AGAIN say that I was commenting on his you tube marketing. I said he LOOKED like a d-bag. The responses in this thread prove that I am not the only one.

I have said nothing negative about the man's knives. I am sure Mike is a big boy and can take a little ribbing.

My opinion has been stated. If any of you would like to continue this discussion please PM me. Otherwise, I will be in the Makers Gallery. Feel free to crap on my knives there.

Cheers,

Nick

I can say with certanty that if I saw the you tube videos while in the process of deciding on a custom knife purchace, I would think;

Wow, what an incredible d-bag. I wonder what kind of boob would think that was cool. I am absoloutely going to tell several of my friends how much this guy seems like a wannabe contestant on a VH1 reality show.

In your first post , you didnt say he LOOKED like a d-bag , you said what an incredible d-bag...

either way , you are entitled to your opinion.

Have a Happy Holiday and a Knife New Year.

Wow, if Mike Snody's approach was not working for him on the net the man would not sell any knife he makes, any knife in under an hour.
If Mike Snody made 100 knives and laid them on a table at any knife show there would be a riot!! Very few makers can sell out in minutes regardless of the number of knives he makes and then sells.
That's testament to the fact he is a Master Maker, superb salesman, absolute gentlemen, funny as hell, as business savy as they come and a man who would never knock another Maker but rather help that maker be better.

Mr. Rossi, I am glad you think you do things better than Mike Snody, there is nothing wrong with having an opinion supported by no one but yourself. That's what makes the world go round, just ask Paul Duncan. Paul thought he made knives better than most, and knocked other makers on the forums. Never heard of him, I rest my case...........

Really? That's what you said?? ...Let's check the instant replay, shall we?

I am intrigued.

I never knew that Mike $nody had this "image" untill this thread. I appreciate that Mr. $nody is a sucessfull and prolific knifemaker. His knives seem to be well made and sturdy. The designs are not offensive but certainly not a big breakthrough in knife aethstetic.

But the image.....hmmm.....

You can look at this a few ways. The outrageous "gangsta" thing certainly sets him apart from other knifemakers. Typically knifemakers are middle aged, bearded and slightly paunchy. Mr. $nody's "street" schtick is in stark contrast. While that certainly will appeal to the 18-25 "urban" crowd, it is an embarrasment to just about everybody else. I can say with certanty that if I saw the you tube videos while in the process of deciding on a custom knife purchace, I would think;

Just sayn'.

Hmmm... doesn't really seem to be the same thing, does it? :rolleyes: ...But in either case, it is one thing to just state that you disagree with another person's portrayed image and quite a different thing entirely to just come right out and insult that person, whether you say that he LOOKS like a "d-bag" or say that you THINK that he's a "d-bag". Either way, I can't see how you insulting another knifemaker could possibly do anything positive for your image as a knifemaker by posting what you posted. Rocks and glass houses and all of that, if you get my drift. :thumbdn::)

As for the "feel free to PM you to continue this conversation" bit, well... You started this out here in the open, so why should anyone continue with you about Mike 'behind closed doors', so to speak? Quite honestly, it's more entertaining to watch you try to backpedal your way out of this right here in public... :p

Hi 5150socal! :)

Thanks 5150socal - duhhh!

Just to be sure - that means "dumb me" for not looking into the forum further or using the Search function. Thanks for real!

Chuck

"typically knife makers are middle age, bearded and paunchy"

In the USA, they are? I wonder where you go to see enough of the typical knife maker to make that claim. I have been to enough Knife shows to know that your comment is ludicrous and silly here in 2009. KNife shows look like Knife shows not Santa claus conventions, Most PROFESSIONAL makers do not look like the picture you paint. Most shave, take care of themselves and are of varied ages,shapes and sizes.. Of course there are some fat bearded folks out there in knife making and other professions but the "typical Maker" does not look like Santa claus!!!
Thank the Lord the "typical Maker" isn't clueless and classless, like you........................

My take on the Mike Snody/Rossi Knives "rivalry";):

Mike Snody, I hate his videos but love his knives;
Rossi Knives, I am sure any video he decided to make would be better than his knives.

I agree......just about anything Rossi did would be better than his knives. Even his weak attempt to talk trash is better than his work. I think I could take a piece of steel and drag it behind my truck for an hour and I would have a better knife than Rossi could make.

Earl, I hope you are not saying you agree with the part where I say I hate Mike's videos.:D

I would love to see a video of that tarmac-grinding experience, would that qualify as a tumbled finish?

Generalize much?:rolleyes:
Somehow, you are coming across as jealous.
Just saying.
