Is the forum slow for anyone else on desktop?

Sometimes I can get on quick and other times not so much. It is annoying at times I'll grant ya that. stay safe

We ran out of storage space again. It took the hosting company multiple days to get more space allocated. Then after allocation it didn't fix things so we had to reboot the server during trouble shooting. This caused errors. It appears to be fixed for now but we're still testing
This was so bad last night I gave up..
It aint fixed..
Since I am a paying member I would like a FULL refund..

Perhaps consider some monitoring software. Send an email yellow alert at say 85% and text red at 95%, or however big your file systems require. Easy fix. Cron up some find commands with an exe rm {}; to delete files older than $i.
It can be fixed. It’s a process improvement to remediate a deficiency. No one can fault anyone for log files, but remedies need to be installed if this IS the issue.

I think there may be some other issue going on with speed and loading etc. on your end. As far as no bumping or relisting for two weeks, I don’t particularly like it either though I know why it was done. I think perhaps there should be maybe no bumps for 72 hours or something. It does get frustrating that sometimes a brand new ad is on the second or third page in one day giving little exposure to what I’m selling. I’m not sure much can be done just because of the sheer volume of posts. I know myself I don’t scroll through multiple pages of listings so sometimes I feel it’s more challenging to sell. The biggest thing that bothers me is uploading pictures. I think I should just be able to upload pictures without sizing hassles. I’m paying to be able to upload and it’s so aggravating I can’t easily use the feature I just wind up posting an Imgur link and I do find that unacceptable

Just had a spree of 522s and oopsies! Less than fun. Difficult to avoid double posting when you have to wait and reload to see if a post went through or not!

So, back to my original question (which got merged with this thread..)

Is it possible to get a subscription cancelled and refunded?

Amateur-hour is fine for a free forum. But not for a paid one. I'm a member of many forums, and they all work fine except the one I (begrudgingly) agreed to pay for.

I'm aware of the issues and there are things going on behind the scenes. Trust me, I'm frustrated as hell as well.

I'll address the comments like this, however:
I’d rather sell on eBay at this rate.
Then sell on eBay. See ya. Oh, they charge you 15% of your sales up to the first $1000? Gosh, no wonder you aren't already selling on eBay full time.

If you don't want to renew memberships, don't. I appreciate the support of the people who are here for the community and are patient as we work to overcome these issues.

Thanks, the communication is at least encouraging.

Despite the issues and as tempting as it is to not renew (as my membership is up for renewal this week), I'm definitely not going to upgrade as was my eventual goal when I originally joined. I've met some great people here and its still a great place to purchase some great pieces and tap into the vast knowledge of the membership.

Hopefully these frustrating technical issues can be resolved soon, but it does seem as though lagging load times, and host issues are an ongoing and regular occurrence. None of the other forums I belong too or frequent (for $0) seem to have these issues as extensively and regularly.

If this is a true "community" as is proclaimed, I'm sure there is/are members with IT experience that would be happy to help assess the situation and help address root causes of these frustrating issues and recommend possible solutions for a more reliable, and user friendly experience, but that would be up to the site owner to post and solicit for that feedback?? community???? Instead the situation just invites criticism and complaints instead of constructive solutions.

As I consider renewal it would be reassuring to know that these issues are being looked into as opposed to being told "if you don't want to renew memberships don't." Beware of the monkeys paw...and his wallet.

In a nutshell, The value of the people I've met here and contact I've maintained with these people outside this forum have far exceeded the cost of the membership, and I will renew and would definitely upgrade my membership when performance improves.

And I would like to add, I would be happy to pay more for an all around "better performing" platform as I'm sure many others would as well. Thank you for the update and please keep us posted, we are frustrated as well!

Thanks, Spark Spark !

Today is much better. In the spirit of communicating symptoms: yesterday was the worst this year .... crashed the browser multiple times when viewing threads with videos.

Getting multiple 522 Errors and slow page loads using iOS Safari over 5G.

I agree about the sales thread bumping. Even if you're not allowed to bump it yourself, it would be nice if when someone else replied to your thread it actually went back to the top (to show activity/interest in what youre selling).

Just a thought.

I still stand by the hosting change, any host worth a damn would be all over this issue to fix it themselves.

Thanks for the update

Running at about 1/2 the speed of smell for me right now. I don’t sell and only bought a couple of knives on here so when my membership expired I didn’t renew it because of the slow condition of the site.

That is exactly why it was changed. People, most of the time not the seller abused it.
