Is the Shirogorov market getting soft?

If he doesn't have a job, how would he have a Shiro to begin with?

What's the saying about a fool and his money?

I believe he is accusing me of not having a job.

As far as a fool and his money, I am not buying 5 figure Shirogorovs in a softening market! :D

I never called for anyone to follow my IG, I said "if you want" and I definitely will block the basement dweller

Actually. No you did not.

Based on What? Follow my IG, I will show you !

Yes, don't you understand what I said, I know every Chinese knife factory, follow my IG, and I can prove it! there are many factories making folders, folders with locks are illegal, but there are still some factories making them.

You said "if you want" to the member who wanted to see more pictures.

If you want, follow my IG, I can send as many as you want, it's not convenient to take and send pictures here.

How many times is soliciting followers for IG going to be tolerated?

That's also a little bit like saying Julio jones or AJ green are bad receivers just because they will never be as good as Jerry Rice.
Not at all, I think I was misunderstood at some point. I do not doubt he makes a great knife but to say that it is the best knife out there hands down is ridiculous, there is a fad out there right now for the latest and greatest trends. Flipper: Check

We can play Instagram bingo all day but at the end of the decade I just don't see any of these knives being passed down to anybody's children. Does that make it a bad knife, nope I just have a different judgement scale of things, I would rather spend $30,000 on something or multiple somethings I can actually use and enjoy and my kids might wind up getting. Different strokes for different folks is what soccerman fails to understand, I'm not jealous, I'm sure I could scrounge up the money to buy a new one but I have no want for one. I can't use it for lawn work and I'm definitely not stupidly prying at things with the thin blade. I prefer knives that are tools first and works of art second.

. I sincerely think he will be one of the other 1,000 makers producing overpriced man jewellery
Overpriced man jewelry hu? That's funny. Well I like my overpriced man jewelry. I like custom knives. Sorry you don't see the Value in custom knives. But a lot of people do on this forum.

So what current makes do you feel will be passed down to children eligible? Not being a smart ass just trying to gain context

The value I place in custom knives is their f&f, attention to detail ,and the potential for a better heat treat on a tool.

If you are spending 30k on knives, I don't want to know what kind of hole in your psyche or traumatized past that you are trying to compensate for.

If it were My disposable income, I would try to help others, not buy a flashy ring or knife...
To each their own I guess. But good on ya for being successful.

Precisely. Its a feeding frenzy. Tulip mania. Look at the exchange! Flooded with them. One dealer has listed 8 this month, another "non-dealer" has listed 6 in the last 4 weeks. General even had a "chat" thread full of posts by a "non-dealer" member containing the pictures of the Shirogorovs that were available on his retail site.

My point is not about membership levels and who is a dealer and such, but that the market on these Shirogorov titanium framelock flippers (titanium framelock flippers being, by far, the most "saturated" knife style on the planet...enough already!) is going to pop like a soap bubble if it hasn't already.

Are they nice knives? Maybe. But titanium framelock flippers have been beaten to death. And inflated titanium framelock flippers? Look out.

The market for "slightly used" inflated titanium framelock flippers that are, in fact, "well used" inflated titanium framelock flippers? I dunno. Need an economist for that one.

There you go making in-accurate assumptions again, I do see the value in customs. I see hours of beautiful work, hand finishes, file work, engraving, hand fitted parts, makes my pants tight. Once again I focus on function over form. I would give a body part to have Ernest Emerosn make a waved version of Bud Nealy's Pesh Kabz, a good belly for slicing with a zero grind edge and the durable penetration tip of the Pesh Kabz grind, and I would be willing to spend $2,500 or so to have it made. It would be functional and have lasting value both as a knife and as a one off collector's item. Having said that I would beat on it like I borrowed it from my dead beat brother in law that owed me money. Can't say the same for any of the knives I'm seeing, I would damage them too easily.

Your logic is funny, buying knives is not helping others? I'm helping shirogorov to get more funds to make more great folders.

When I spend my money, I help people.

And on this forum, people buy "overpriced" knives, as I said before, normal people wouldn't even buy a knife over $100,
To me $30k for 3 top level Sergey fulll custom is well worth it. Like those Ferrari owners , they think Ferrari is well worth it.
Again, I like, I buy, I can.

No, you help a person.
I would choose to help multiples, and namely not those who have only monetary gain as a core value.

Plus, my comment was directed towards CJW, not you.

Regarding the knives, I like the looks of them, but I wouldn't spend my coin on one, I could have one made for me personally frnless and presumably more happy with that.

I think we've all gotten the idea. The topic has been addressed. The personal remarks have overwhelmed any discussion of the knives.
