Is there anything better than the ZT 0920

Considering price point especially are there any other options available that can compete with the 0920.

I have really large hands and need at least a 3.75 inch blade on the knife. Looking for a flipper with a full titanium handle and steel that's up on the same level as 20cv.

I feel like I've looked through so many knives but can't find anything that competes with the ZT but maybe there are some that I haves missed.

Depends on your use.
For my uses, a Buck 110 or Old Timer 7OT is more practical, and thus "better".

No doubt others will say a Chris Reeves is "better" than ZT. (and vise versa)

If you like the ZT, and can afford it, then get it.
Why over think it? First and Foremost, a knife is a tool. It's like asking which is better, Snap On or Mac?

What about a Manix? The cutting edge is shorter than what you're after, but with the choil included I'd bet it would fall pretty close. Lots of different steels to choose from, which in turn offers lots of different price ranges.

The one thing I still believe the Manix holds above every other knife I've handled is ergonomics. It's pretty damn incredible. If you haven't held one before I definitely suggest you try it out before you buy one.

I agree, if you can't find a comfortable grip on the Manix you have some seriously weird hands. It's comfortable and secure just about anyway you hold it.

hello,i have a 920 and I can tell you that for the price, the machining, the flipping action and blade steel is incredible.it fires open hard, lockup is great and the detail of the machining is top notch. the sweeping spine bothers me a little but I guess it makes it unique.

Ever try a Spyderco military? Many sprints in different steel types. They also have variations in framelock and liner locks. They will slice far better than the zt.

Edit: OH my bad your looking for a flipper. Good tool regardless.

Lol I do have wierd hands;) I have a BM contego and even that doesn't have the perfect shape for my overly large hands.

I know it's lame but I don't really use my knives for hard work, it's more a protective item to have with some light use when needed but if I feel a knife is inferior I don't really enjoy carrying it as much.

I have some strange mental block on spyderco and I almost got a manix but talked myself out of it, I stay in a country where much like Canada knives are overpriced and hard to come by on the secondhand market so I have to choose what I want carefully as mistakes or second thoughts after recieving it are rather expensive

Oh shit, haha. I guess I missed that part too.. Well now you have two great options if you decide to forgo the flipper aspect. Sorry about that.

You should definitely give Spyderco a chance. A lot of people dismiss them right from the start, but eventually see that they're one of the very best manufacturers in business. They're actually my own personal favorite production knife company.

Once you try a Spyderco you'll get over the initial fear. I never liked the look until I got one. Now I can't stop getting them. Pure knives. But yea not for everyone of course.

If you have big hands and want a manix2 go with an xl version.

It's best to try them out before you buy. Just recently a knife store opened up in my area, and I haven't even checked it out yet. Should help me save some $ (or spend more $ lol).

I actually think this is probably the best overall knife for the price and I'm pretty set on it but was wondering if there was anything else in the same same for the price.

Yeah the only decent knives the stores have hear by me are benchmades. I love me a benchmade and the contego is one of my favourites but I'm really after a very nice framelock knife, I have a couple of Kizers but feel the lack something I can't put my finger on

Short answer is no. The only thing that would have made it better would be to not do a recurve, but then I don’t think the lines would look as nice. Pictures don’t even come close to doing this knife justice. It’s amazing

The 0562 which I really wanted and did get to try out didn't have a good handle geometry as the back end tapers off too much and the 0452 I'm a bit worried will be too skinny in hand, my only gripe on the 920 is the slight recurve and even though I sharpen on stones that 20cv is still going to take a long time to get done

Bang for your buck, the ZT 0562CF way outdoes the 0920. Much better blade shape for actual use. Same level materials, flipping action, etc.

I doubt it for that price. Looks like a good knife. I have a ZT 0392 and it’s amazing. Perfect F&F

That was the knife I really wanted but the handle is just no good for me, I also considered the 0560 but the more I've looked it the less it appeals to me

Yeah I agree the lines wouldnt have been as good but it's the only thing that's stopped me so far;)
