Is there anything better than the ZT 0920

That was the knife I really wanted but the handle is just no good for me, I also considered the 0560 but the more I've looked it the less it appeals to me

Wait and see what they announce at Shot Show this week. I'm hoping for something good this year.

IF they had just put a normal blade, something flat ground with a drop or clip point into the 0920 handle, I'd have been all over it. It's just that ridiculous recurve and swedge that make it a joke that I can't imagine actually buying or using. If they had put something like the blade from the 0909 into the 0920 handle, that would have been a real winner.

How is the swedge and recurve a joke? I'm not a recurve fan nor a swedge fanatic, but I have to scratch my head at how the execution of those features on the les George designed 0920 is a "joke".

Personally i love the blade shape aesthetically and i do use it very often too, nothing non functional about it for me.

I really don't think the're going to do a different blade in it since it's a Les George collab made to be a almost perfect Harpy copy.

Or you could pay someone to regrind it and remove the recurve? It's not a massive one so wouln't even remove much material.

Just because I don't care for serrations doesn't mean any knife that has them is a joke. Just not my cup of tea.

Waiting in anticipation man :D it's a good looking knife but I'm in exactly the same mind about the swedge and recurve, it's just not for me but that handle looks like it's in a different league comfort wise!

I bought a 0920 and quite liked it, I ended up gifting it to a friend who hadn't ever had a knife other than a sak. He carries it daily, and loves it. Uses the hell out of it.

Aesthetics are all about preference of course. In my eyes it's just absurdly aggressive and tacticool looking at the expense of meaningful utility. On the very practical side, sharpening will be difficult to impossible for the average user.

It is a comfortable handle! And is silly light in the hand. For the size and blade length it is soooo light. Milling the inside of the titanium handles did wonders!

Yeah, I love the handle so very much. I sure hope they use it or a similar one on a different blade shape.

I've been holding out for shot show for a while now so let's see what they bring to the table as I am very partial to ZT and hope they bring out exactly what I'm looking for.

I'm not a recurve fan by any means, for the same reasons you're not a fan of it. My buddy hones his on the bottom of a ceramic mug just fine though, granted he's not a knife nut and working sharp is all he cares about.

That's the ine thing i don't love about it.

Maybe it's just me but i'm fine with a 150+ gram knife.
I'm not saying i don't like that it's light, but the milling made the flipping sound a bit, well hollow.

The reason I think of it as a joke is that it's features present as very exaggerated, over the top. A well designed, subtle recurve can be great and aid in utility. This is not that. Again, just my opinion. Not saying it has to be yours.

Me too, I have more ZT knives than any other brand. Been patiently (read anxiously) waiting myself.

My current carry knife is a hoback a15. Two days ago I was hanging with my friend and he pulled out the 0920 I gave him. The weight difference is insane, I have to agree, my preference is for a little more heft.

But honestly my preferences change.

They are not going to release much until later in the year. They are so busy with other things atm.

The CKF SSE was recently on sale for a great price (not much more than the 0920)...but that boat has saled. I'm sure there are other titanium handled flippers which are comparable in price and specs; but I haven't been browsing much of late.
