IS this a real Strider SMF or are the fakes THAT good now???

by everything I can tell it looks dead on real. I've owned quite a few striders (not as many as leftytwogunz though) and have studied, repaired, tuned, and made parts for SMFs but am far from an authority mind you. I tell you what though, if you bought it you'd be ahead of the game with that badass folder. Let's us know if you do, Hell, or if you don't. I might get on some of that action. Hah

It's best just to ask . I've had some unique striders before that actually a member or 2 on here accused me of having a fake strider I showed them the bill of sale as well as a handwritten note describing the knife from an authorized dealer .

I'll say this I've never seen a starlingear strider with a blank blade . Didn't say they didn't exist just I've never seen one I also checked the authorized dealers I've dealt with and don't see that knife or anything similar . Not saying it's a fake saying it's best to ask either strider or the dealer or both .

I have a SMF in green lego ti is a grey bead blast with a flamed clip
It is cpm d2 (you can search the sales thread about 2 months or so ago

The seller said he bought it 1 year ago from BLG I was scared because I too could not find any info on cpm d2 .

They emailed me back its legit

I can't guarantee it but I'd say it looks pretty legit :) but the safest thing to do would be to find out the original "dealer" and email them

I can also say mines has the 3/4 grind and it's pretty things behind the edge compared to my FFG cpm 154 smf . And it takes a NASTY sharp edge .

Might not be a kitchen knife but it's a slicer for sure :)

All the wholes line up and most importantly its a D2 blade so it has the small diameter stop pin vs the large ones used on most fake D2 blades and genuine S30v models....It real IMO. good looking knife.

If your a member on the USN post up pics there and Mick will probably tell you himself. Or you can email the pics as suggested above but it's definitely best to get verification for sure.

Never seen a fake Strider with actual hollow grinds, or with good laser etching like that. Most of the Strider clones on DH Gate are full titanium and meant to look like MSC knives.

There are suddenly about 3 knives for sale with that design on the second hand market... I also have heard (won't mention the name as it's not my place) but a very high end knife retailer just got sent a SCARY accurate fake where even the logo was exactly copied, a feat previously not achieved.

I personally havent seen a starlingear logo in that design, has anyone else?

That's not a starlingear logo on the knife, it's the flying penis, the same logo that's stamped on the blade.
It's real.

How about an SMF with a San Francisco Giants logo laser engraved on the G10 side? i saw one on my local retailer.

This is the first time that I've ever seen a Strider, with CPM D2 blade steel. This sure is a very nice looking SMF!

That wouldn't be enough info. I can take a real one and go get it laser engraved for free. Or I can take a fake one do the same

I can't find a single stroder with that laser etching, not one. Usually etched strider a have blade etching too.

Call the person selling and ask, or email a retailer that has experience and ask.

Seriously Reignman, you are dragging this on and on.

Are you buying this from an individual? What is the price? Did you ask him where he got it from?

If he is not giving you any answers move on, there is a reason for it. As always, if the deal is too good to be true it usually is. Most people that have some special one-off or limited production knife know where it came from and are happy to give that info in order to sell the item.

It's like you want like 10 dudes to research it for you, but won't even tell us what the seller is saying.

It looks real, but I don't believe we have even seen all of the pictures, know if it's coming from a dealer, from China, or your neighbor's kid, or the price. Some info like that is helpful when asking for assistance if a knife is real or fake. Do your part man.

Best of luck.
