Is this an good all rounder

At the price, I would hope the manufacturer would get it sharp before shipping the product out the door. Otherwise, its a fairly expensive knife kit.

By American standards, it is expensive. From what I hear, though, domestic goods are very expensive in Israel. My mom has a friend who lives there and, according to her, it's cheaper to travel to Spain or Italy and buy a wardrobe than it is to purchase the same in Israel. I'm guessing that the knife price is more indicative of Israel's economy than it is of excessive charges on the part of the maker.

WVHILLS points out that the base would not be a good hammer- that is the first thing I spotted as well... I'd have to say that I one bought an expensive knife (a gerber) and I think it was a mistake; It's best to find a cheap but strong knife that you can affor losing. However if you do intend to fork out for a really nice expensive knofe then I'd have to say that you should look for something with a good metal piece on the butt end; something for beating things with. That can be very handy. If you do buy it then let us know how you go.
