Is this hobby addictive or is it me?

I have lots of hobbies. I have never had one where I could buy 5 of something and then just say, hmm I will buy 5 more. I don't even use these things. It is just an odd hobby.

In the last 7 or so days, I have bought 2 lone wolf t2 red/black micarta nib off of ebay (though I really want FRN handles I can't find them), a mini grip (one of my nephews took my other, from AG Russell), two tiny AG Russell titanium knives, an AG Russell gentlemens pocket tool, a leatherman 306x (again AG Russell, this thing is cool), a CRKT get a way thing (AG Russell), leatherman s4 (online),and a benchmade mini 585 (bladeforums, getting mailed today). I might have left something out.

I am almost 100% sure I am going to get a bm sibert (in fact I lost on a bid on ebay), a kulgera, some rat folders, and possibly either a buck vantage or a kershaw blur next week.

I don't even use these things.

Weirdest hobby I have ever picked up.

This sickness goes around and never goes away.

richw: I suggest you review a few of my former posts on this topic and then fashion your opinion accordingly. Or, consult a dictionary and discover what 'addiction' truly entails. Either way, you'll be needing to order a new batch of freshly minted checks.

I don't know what you're talking about. I can stop when ever I want. Right after I get a Spyderco Gayle Bradley and a Kershaw Volt. Well then there is that M4/Ti/G10 Military I'm on the list for. But that's it. Really.

I guess it is at least cheaper than collecting English shotguns or sportscars.

You remember Pooky from the movie New Jack City? It's like that. Enjoy.

It is only through the grace of God that I'm not broke, divorced and living under a bridge fondling a pile of knives. My wife is a saint.

I have yet to see anyone offer cheeseburgers or....err...other services in the trade forums. I can see it happening though! :D Oh wait, that was Don't Be A Menace, not New Jack City. Sorry, I just woke up.

EXTREMELY - I got into buying/selling knives online as an accidental hobby when I first got on da 'bay about 8 years ago. I've always loved knives but the internet and forums just opened up the global market in a way to buy/sell and communicate with other knife nuts like myself. Knives are by far the most addicting (more so than watches and flashlights and other gear). I buy knives I have no intention of every using even if it's just to get it to see it in person and then just sell it again to buy something else. I don't think I actually spend THAT much on knives - I more just sell one to buy another and it keeps going....

I was getting close the other day to taking the plunge on the custom makers forum...well i bought one small knife like a week ago, but I was thinking about graduating from marijuana and going straight to coke laced with meth...

Its crazy. I bought a ton of Rough Riders/Colts on the Bay and various other online locations. Like 70. I have also picked up over a dozen Sanrenmu's and have 7 more on the way from China. Then there are the Bucks. A total of 8 of the Vantage series alone, plus at least a dozen others. I sold off twenty knives recently, and have another forty that are going, but that 60 isn't even half of the knives I bought in the last six months. I'll never use all these knives, why can't I stop buying them? :D

Hobby? HOBBY???
This ain't no stinkin hobby, it's a way of life!:grumpy:
