My most expensive knives are CG Sebenza's and few other top offerings from Spyderco,Benchmade and DPX.
I find that I carry a lowly Spyderco light weight Native 5 the most.
Another thing is, I would be more likely to use an expensive knife that was made in some numbers than a cheaper one-off... One offs are not necessarily the most expensive...
My most expensive knife is a Winkler Camp Knife. I haven't had a chance to use it yet so I can't comment on it. It'll be competing against the Junglas which is my favorite knife to date.
My most carried and used knife is my most expensive knife.(custom division Shirogorov) recently picked up a rockstead and its quickly becoming a favorite but I'm reluctant to carry and use it. Usually I'll sell knives that don't get used so I'm a bit torn. Excellent fit and finish on the rockstead. Just too pretty to use and I don't have much experience maintaining a convex edge.
My favorite knife is my most expensive PRODUCTION knife, a Spyderco Dice. However, it is not my most expensive knife; that title goes to an Alan Davis custom Damascus Wharncliffe I had made two years ago.
I am currently having another small Damascus knife made by Alan. Hopefully, it will be both my favorite and my most expensive.
My most used knife is a SAK. I have quite a few $100+ knives, some $200+ knives, and a few $300+ knives. I really don't have a favorite knife overall. I have ten or so folders that I really like and a half dozen fixed blades that I really like, but favorites... that would be stretching it a bit.
The most expensive folder I ever purchased is my M390 Para Military 2, and it's my favorite folder, and gets carried a LOT, more than any other. I own a William Henry that was a gift, and probably cost the giver more than my PM2 cost me. It's very nice, yet seldom carried.
