It’s All Come Down To This

I may have to downsize. The law isn't clear about how many knives a non-binary walrus can own. Not making any changes yet, I rather like my collection.

I noticed that looking at my own photos of my own knives helps with controlling sudden urges to buy new ones.
Ultimately, it is all the eye candy that we see online, that does us in. So I keep my own eye candy open in a browser tab and every time I look, I think "Damn, these look so good. And they are all mine! I am so lucky, why would I need anything more." Fighting fire with fire I guess.

My father went to Indonesia years ago, and visited some of the remote villages where folks still live a primitive lifestyle. One appreciative villager gave him a knife for a flashlight given to him. Villager still had another knife to use.
Point is, there are very, very few people that only own one knife.

Another example, look in any kitchen in the US. Multiple knives, multiple uses/purpose. Can a good chef knife do most anything? Yes, but who has just a chef knife in their house, and nothing else. Most folks use other knives more than the chef knife.
