Yes. For one person. Now if 20 or 30 folks are interested and they all PM him, the total energy is a LOT more.

That is why we have a forum in addition to emails and PMs. The forum is for providing information which may be of interest to a lot of people, in lieu of a bunch of PMs or emails.

Now that you have it, would you care to share the name here? I do not understand why it has to be some grand secret. And if someone isn't going to provide all the relevant info, then maybe better to just STFU about it in the first place.
 
Since when is having hundreds of posts and being around BF for years a license to blatantly misrepresent your for sale offerings? No one’s willing to call this pos behavior out publicly in GBU so that he/she can’t just continue to rip off unsuspecting buyers with this lame-ass, bad and ugly con artist routine? Curious. What am I missing? Gots to be more to this.
 
Paypal came through - got refunded all dollars!

FWIW, I never got a reply to my PM request for more information re: the shady, long time member mentioned above. :confused: colubrid colubrid - feel free to share their UN at least to prevent scammers from lurking in the shadows. Otherwise, like asserted above, its just more needless internet drama.

Lesson learned - ask any seller lots of questions even with a pile of good feedback, but you may still get burned. Great communication doesn't mean it isn't a scam. Case closed (for me anyway)!

Or it's buyer's remorse kicking in on the reports of anonymous bad actors.

You know; someone so thirsty for a knife that they ignore the flags and wind up wishing they'd never heard of the exchange.
 
Or, you know, a flag like when dubious or unethical sales tactics on the part of a forum member get called out by forum name in GB&U when other resolution attempts have failed. He or she is always free to step up and offer a defense/explanation (or not) and potential buyers can decide to deal (or not) with the BF member accordingly. Thought that was the whole point.
 
It’s become somewhat convoluted but the OP had a ghosting issue with @symphonyincminor after paying for an item offered by same but never received and raised it as a concern. Member @symphonyincminor never responded (could have resulted from some catastrophic circumstances unknown to BF) to OP’s predicament and OP posted the extant circumstances in GB&U. Various members weighed in and it turns out a couple other members were in the same boat with respect to @symphonyincminor. Speculation ensued as to why an otherwise long term member with a lot of positive sales transactions suddenly disappeared w/o explanation. Another member (not OP) commiserated and stated that there was another established member also guilty of shady sales practices who had been getting away with such (i.e. specifically stating that the blade they offered for sale had never been used or carried BY HIM/HER while failing to acknowledge that the same knife may have been used or carried by a previous owner) but, nonetheless, has been allowed to remain active and unrepentant on BF. For some unknown reason, this particular deep-sheet has remained unidentified. Speculation (“internet drama”) ensued. Be helpful to get to the bottom of this drama. Anyone?

Saw a knife for sale a few weeks back that had the same claim. Never carried or used (he might have even said never sharpened I don't remember) yet it had a mirror polished edge on it that many including myself pointed out. Knife didnt come that way. Pretty shady saying its unused because you didn't use it yet the person you got it from cleary did or at least sharpened it...

The seller that does this is a very frequent seller and has a large amount of sales here on BF (I guess that is why no one will stand up to the deception). Not worth the hassle and just learned the hard way to never buy from again.
