I have been talking to our very own Cody1. I have to finish getting the design done, the measurements double and triple checked, and a mock up made to check for ergo's and fit, but the Brutus is on it's way.

Thanks to miracle of modern science, the weight should be over a pound and a half, with the balance point being approximately 2 inches up from the end of the handles and about 3 quarters of an inch up from the edge of the blade. Overall length of 15.73", blade length of 10.06". The grind will be saber, and very, very similar to the same size as the BK2. Yes, there will be holes, same as on our current Beckers, as I will be using the existing grivory handles, as well as making my own micarta at some point down the road.

Cody, I hope this wasn't too forward of me to post, but I am super excited.

LOoks like an Outcast with better handle slabs...and a POA to sharpen, better get it done in 3V since your going the custom route too.

Hmm, I'd be interested in one as well, how much is it setting you back?

First off if this is an issue, someone let me know and I will pull the plug. Ethan, I hope if this is not cool you will let me know, would hate to get in any legal hot water over this.

Second, price isn't something I am going to discuss, mainly because I don't know a set-in-stone figure, and secondly because that is Cody's business. If Cody is okay with making more, and if Ethan doesn't have a problem with us making this, I don't mind if anyone else uses the design I came up with. But we gotta see to those two "if's" first. And then Cody has to be the one to tell you how much it costs. Plus there are all kinds of rules here about buying stuff that are way over my head and complicated and that sort of thing is really not something I want to get an infraction over.

Third, I emailed the final blueprint to Cody today, and we will both be whipping up some mockups to see how it feels and handles and whatnot. After that, and provided Ethan doesn't have any issues and Cody is still on-board, we can get moving. Thanks for watching, and thanks for the kind words.

I'm definitely curious about those "if's" and all the responses.
Nice design, would be interesting to handle a finished product or have an idea of pricing for something similar. (like an extra 1/2" of gripping area)

Nice renderings, What CAD do you use? I am an AutoCAD guy myself.

I have been using SolidWorks 2009 for about the last year to year-an-a-half. I tried AutoCAD but it seemed to have a steeper learning curve. Way more buttons than I could ever figure it seemed anyways. SolidWorks has done what I wanted it to though. Very nicely.

It is going to be a bit before I can have that. Really excited though, my cardboard cutout (Brutus Lite) is handling very nicely. Should be more then enough to satisfy my big knife needs for quite awhile.

Again, won't discuss price, other than to say the general price we have kicked around is very affordable. I was actually surprised that a custom could be had for it. Granted, I haven't bought any custom knives before, but from what I have seen price-wise for customs, as well as a fair bit of production knives, it is a good deal. But until Cody drops a price on here, I will say nada.

Not really sure what you mean by an extra 1/2" of grip area. You sayin you want the handle an extra 1/2" longer?

Ayup -- I know that means the stock grivory wouldn't fit, but I can make wood denim micarta scales for it after the fact. (go look at my patrol machete "in-hand" pic and you'll understand the request)

Geez you guys must have some huge hands! Course, I have the opposite problem. I got these tiny little hands. I think they based that Burger King commercial off me.
