It begins... Brutus (Updated 05/14/11) Pics on p.4

First off if this is an issue, someone let me know and I will pull the plug. Ethan, I hope if this is not cool you will let me know, would hate to get in any legal hot water over this.

Second, price isn't something I am going to discuss, mainly because I don't know a set-in-stone figure, and secondly because that is Cody's business. If Cody is okay with making more, and if Ethan doesn't have a problem with us making this, I don't mind if anyone else uses the design I came up with. But we gotta see to those two "if's" first. And then Cody has to be the one to tell you how much it costs. Plus there are all kinds of rules here about buying stuff that are way over my head and complicated and that sort of thing is really not something I want to get an infraction over.

Third, I emailed the final blueprint to Cody today, and we will both be whipping up some mockups to see how it feels and handles and whatnot. After that, and provided Ethan doesn't have any issues and Cody is still on-board, we can get moving. Thanks for watching, and thanks for the kind words.

Ok, a few questions before we say this is a go no go.

1) You gonna put Becker, BKT or Kabar anywhere on the knife?
2) You gonna advertise it as a Becker, BKT, or Kabar at anytime?
3) You gonna not going to send me one for official verification of an undertemined amount of time?

If you said yes to anyone of them, this is a no go. Especially number 3, thats a biggy right there.

HONOR THE MODS!!!

Chris shows some adjustments that needed made in red.

I love making big blades. I will be doing the cutout today. It's a great design with a really nice feel. The .25" thick O-1 stock is going to be a beast...

Chris sent me this pic this morning.

Hey Derek.....

One offs and two offs do not give me fits....I am always happy to see you guys modding stuff....It is how I got started........I guess this is a super mod.....Realistically speaking I own the handle design but, if you guys build blades that fit them and they do not in anyway pretend to be either Ka-Bar or BK&T products (which would bring down legal wrath beyond rational measure i.e. you ain't gonna like this) there is not a lot we could do.......I guess you have figured out that I am always open to new ideas and am open to working with people with good ones.....

I am not in any way (I am legaling here) encouraging this horrible, risky behavior but, I want an opportunity to try it out if it gets built.....

All Best....

I hear ya boss. No worries, this is still the one and only. Chris has had some stuff going on, so it isn't moving too fast, which is fine by me. Rather it done right than done fast and sloppy.

And again, this will be down your way when I send it to Jason for inspection. With the disclaimer that it must sit in your hands for a bit when it gets down there.

Very nice design and model you have Derek. Any thought of making it in stainless steel? Looking forward to see this knife. Great job!!!

Nice! that thing is beastly. I especially like the belly. Did you mention the thickness, I might have overlooked it.
